The article doesn’t say Mark Carney is committing tax fraud. It is saying Brookfield (which Mark Carney breifly worked for) has set up some companies (holding companies not operating companies - look it up dipshit) in the Cayman Islands. There is no tax in the Cayman Islands. It doesn’t even mention whether Mark Carney even had anything directly to do with those companies, just the company he was chairman of the board from Aug 2022 until January 2025. In fact, these decisions likely dint engen need board approval. Many of these companies (there were only 12j were set up between 2015-2024 so many would be before Carney’s time. There is nothing illegal about these companies. Obama doesn’t like them because it’s less tax revenue in the US. The address of the companies are the same as 18,000 other companies so this is a common practise. You know who else has companies in the Cayman Islands? Trump does for his Truth Social company.
