25 Glen Watford

I have been to 25 Glen Watford (Camary Spa) three times and each time I had Becky, a twentysomething good looking petite asian woman.

However, I am pretty sure she no longer works there.

The last two times I have been there, I have had Nancy. She is quite heavy and unattractive.

Also, they are getting greedy here on demands for tips. $20.00 is one thing and $40.00 is another.

I would like a good effective one hour massage with release for $60.00--not $100.00, and by a pretty good looking woman.

I am going to shop around in this area for another asian spa.

Any recommendations for $60.00 max places with Changs-like massages?

The other problem with this place is the fact that you don't get a choice of who you want. Although one woman shows you to the room she may not be the one you get.
I agree with what you say about the demanding of tips. I know many work for the tips but I have had times when I had no interest in the woman at this place to do anything more than a massage and then get hit with a tip request. I can understand a door fee and then the attendant working for a tip at a high end MP when the MPAs have model looks but places like this have to give compensation to the MP out of the door fee. So you end up rejecting the MPA here twice first when she does nothing for you and you say no thanks to extras then the second time when she asks for a tip even though you got not extras.

I would like to win the lottery every year, but it is not likely.

I think that is not a reasonable request, if you can get it, great, but don't expect a warm welcome should you return. For one hour, $60.00 for the massage plus $20.00 for the release, is reasonable, otherwise, you would likely be labeled a cheapskate, and repeat visits might not be welcomed. Or you can ask for a topless, and maybe they will include the release for the extra $20.00. These ladies work primarily for the tips, so if the door fee is $60.00 you are asking them to work on you for almost no money. When was the last time you worked for no money? Just a suggestion, open the wallet a little wider to ensure a good session, in the end, it could make the effort worthwhile.

Almost universally in the industry, the rate forumula is the same, the studio has the door fee or most of the door fee to pay the bills and make a profit, and the ladies get the tips. This is not a bad way of doing it because, you stand a better chance at getting good service, if the lady knows her tip is dependant on the service she provides, your chances of getting a good session increases. Of course the world is not perfect, and you are still dealing with people on a personal level, but the formula is sound.

Hey Chad, inflation has taken over. $60.00 is about the MINIMUM you would pay for 1 hour. Most places I know of are $80.00 and many are more (Changs is $85.00).

That said, you and 2cents both have a complaint about the service. Did anybody bother to tell the manager (Alicia)? Don't be shy, she's a nice lady.

As for tipping, here's how the dictionary defines it:
A favor or gift, usually in the form of money, given in return for service.
That means a tip is given freely by you, not asked for by the service provider, but LuckyGary has a point too, the women simply can't make a living if they don't get the tips. $60.00 plus $20.00 tip is what you pay at other places without the tip.

Now about that release:
According to the bylaws, Wee Willie Winky (aka Mr. Happy, One Eyed Monster) is supposed to be covered at all times in a holistic spa, and no touching! So, when you ask for a release, you are asking the lady to break the law - and you want that for free? Also, I know for a fact that Alicia does not approve of extras. All her employees sign a contract stating they won't do so, and if they do (and she finds out), they're gone!

Yes I did speak to Alicia and noted that I thought since she showed me the room she would be the one seeing me. In fact I mentioned to the woman who came into the room that I was expecting Alicia. She appeared to ignore this request. As I had an attendant "not of my choosing" I had no interest in looking for extras. So the massage was just a massage. Therefore the attendant got the message I was not interested in her. Then after the basic session, a rather so so massage also, a tip was asked for.

As I noted my problem is that without providing some of the door fee to the attendant and poor service is given or the attendant is unappealing then a tip may not happen. As I noted the door fee and tip setup is fine when the women look like models and the chance of no tips is very rare.

However with the setup at this place it may occur more than normal. Besides if its all on the up and up then why would the attendants have to ask for a tip. If the tip is for the straight massage given then a 15% tip would be a starting guide line but if no tip the attendants would still get something for the door fee.

As others have noted attendant choice is not allways left up to the customer at this place so the first impression here may not start off on the right foot.

seems like a lot of the places on sheppard with $60/hr sessions are getting pushy with tips
I stopped going to Apple Garden and Sunshine Spa for that very reason, and tried 25 Glen Watford and was disappointed as well (though the back massage was amazing)

You hear too much from the other "rooms" in that place anyway
