Is it possible to stimulate increased human growth hormone production in the body by using accupuncture/accupressure?

Questions like this can be difficult to answer for an acupuncturist as our whole system works within a different framework to western medicine. We diagnose by asking questions, observing and usually taking pulses and looking at the tongue for patterns of disharmony rather than taking blood samples and looking at hormone production. Therefore 2 people with a hgh deficiency may have a completely different Chinese medical diagnosis and could respond in an entirely different way.

Acupuncture has been shown to have a profound affect on hormones however, both in human and animal studies. A quick google search only pointed me in the direction of one quite old study specifically related to human growth hormone, but this doesn't mean others don't exist.

It may be possible to give a better idea of the potential to help if you could describe some symptoms.
