Acupuncture recommended for herniated disks?

Hello,

wondering if anyone could offer any advice on trying acupuncture to help healing (if this is possible?) a herniated disk in cervical spine. Are there other complementary therapies which could help? I have pain radiating down my shoulderblade at the moment and take antiinflammatories/ wear a collar - but I'm wondering if there is anything else I could do to help the situation.

Firstly I'm not an acupuncturist, but do know a couple of them.

Acupuncture can be quite useful in reducing the pain and inflammation. Suggest you call up a few that are based in your local area, and have a chat with them. Helps if you find one that you are comfortable with.

I am an acupuncturist - and yes, they may be able to help with the pain levels - I would suggest you have a look on the British Acupuncture Council website, and find a practitioner local to you, and give some of them a call.
Most will happilly discuss your requirements over the phone, and help you decide if it is right for you or not.
