Tarrico at El Pueblo wasn't bad except that the table had a broken man on the 3 rod, the players were pretty good, but with the broken man, its hard for the team that has to play on that side. we won every game on the good side and then we gave away the good side and played on the bad side and still won, but i think we would have had some pretty good games if the table would have been fair. we went back tonight (table was fixed) and had 1 good game before they closed the bar (early) the people that we played said that this was the place to play in San jose. nice guys tonight, pretty good English, the guys on sun night were not happy at all about losing to gringos. all in all we had some decent competition. minnesota foosball players should have a pretty good rep there now, as we have yet to lose and they have never seen a really fast pull kick before.
The new york bar has the only beef that has tasted good so far, I just wish that they would offer something like sloppy joes after 9 when the kitchen closes, it would be so easy to have the cook make a batch before he leaves and have it on a warmer so the bartenders could easily serve it. I think they could grab 20% more late night business with decently cheap, decently tasty, munchy food for those that are still up after 9 pm and dont want to eat
the so far mediocre food at the del ray (bar not the restaurant), the del rey has pretty good fries, but everything else has been over priced and mediocre. My friend has met the owner of the new york bar and i am going to suggest the sloppy joe idea.
Great trip so far!
