Beatle Bar, word on the street

Ok, this is word on the street, but comes from a very reliable source of mine... I heard that the Beatle Bar is now charging 2000 colones just to come into their bar... I don't frequent the place anymore, but hope people will tell them to Phuck off if this is true.. Probably not as there is not another whorehouse in Jaco.

It's not just word on the street, we have a member who said this in a trip report:

Got to Beetle Bar at 5.00pm only to be told they do not open till 6.00pm (free to enter before 7.00pm, $4.00 later).

What balls on these people. Do they charge chicas too?

If the market will bear the cost more power to the owners. Almost every nudie club I have ever been in charged an entrance fee. In this case... we have a bunch of hard-dick tourists looking to engage a hooker or 2. A few bucks won't stop them from getting to the goodies.

They have enough balls to charge 5-6 bucks for a drink why not a cover. With no competition they can do as they please.

And most (probably 75%) of the customers are guys who came here with no knowledge of the sex industry in CR; think that compared to the good old USofA, it is a bargain; and have more money than the average guy. To them 1: they are probably acustom to paying a cover charge in most places; 2: what is $4 to them when there are all those hot chicas inside; 3: they don't care!!! they are here to have a good time!!!!!

Mark, I've tried to get that through the heads of a few hotel owners in the area... A REALLY friendly place could probably have similar results here, not quite as much..... BB is gonna get squeezed out of town by the powers that be in the future anyway.

Ways to avoid the Beatle Bar

Lots of Chicas are not fond of the Beatle Bar and their antics. The girls complain about the security guys going thru their purses and taking things from them.

1)Girls pass by the Copacabana Hotel Pool bar frequently to scope out the scene.

2)Hotel Cocal & Casino has chicas trolling around.

3)Panco Villas late night.

4) Divas above Panco Villas is a strip club with private booths.

5) Claritas has a great happy hour crowd with some Chicas hanging around.

6) El Bohio beach front bar also has a good happy hour with some Chicas.

No Doubt BB is the epicenter of action. I expect these other venues will prosper with their antics. Just make sure to check the girls ID if you have any doubts to their age.

Whats the deal with Monkey Bar and Jungle Bar these days?

Admittedly, it's been a few years since I've been in Jaco, but I thought the Beatle Bar was a poor imitation of the DR. There were lots of girls, but few doable ones & the others were all asking outragious prices. I found that Monkey Bar was sketchy, with lots of guys around who didn't look like they appreciated gringos looking for chicas. Not many chicas there till late at night.

Again, not current info, but next time I go to Jaco, it'll probably be for (real) fishing only.

Didn't a German or Germans purchase the BB a few years ago? As I remember the purchase price was way up there. As many high dollar "fisherman" that go to Los Suenos can they really make more than a show of trying to shut the BB down? If they suceeded think of the economic downturn in Jaco,no one buying the condos already along with no tourist value. Without the BB Jaco is nothing but a dusty ,hot ,cesspool with no infrastruture, growth or in the end reason to exist.
