I agree with all that "Concerned" has listed. It is really hot, about 30 to 35 C in the summer, May through August. Sept-Oct are Ok, Nov to Feb gets cold and windy. Now April it is 17 to 25 deg C daytime.

Yes, Beijing for sure is a very interesting city.

Superchargeme has mentioned a few things already, I would just add, that, if you have someone who knows his way around, you can even enjoy great dinners and lunches all over the place. Even things, which you would never find in any normal "Chinese" restaurant anywhere in the world and things which you will never despise, but which are really good.

Go there and enjoy yourself.

In the summer, I have heard, it is darn hot.
In spring it is very cold (3 - 4 degrees Centigrade only) - I know, because that is, when I was there and froze my ass off on the Great Wall.

If I was you, I would go and not loose another thought about it.

And the hunting, as you call it, is good too.

There are tons of cultural things to see in Beijing. On my first trip took a 5 day tour, and we were touring from 8 AM to 7 PM each day. Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Winter Palace, Great Wall, Tienamin (sp) Square etc. The they have shows at night, dance, acrobatics etc. You can spend a week sight seeing easily.

Where do I start. I need to take a trip somewhere far away. My usual trip is mixing cultural things in the day and hunting at night. I travel solo. Been to Thailand once, I'd like to go again , but it seems their having a little protest movement and I don't want to have any problems if I take a side trip to cambodia. So, for now I'm going to pass.

From what I seen from the 08 games there seem to be a lot of cultural thing to see during the day.

Guys I need some motivational tips on why I should give Bejing a try.
