best stain fighter

my biggest client pet peeve is mascara. i've got a couple pillowcases with the raccoon eyes embedded in them. maybe they were wearing waterproof mascara. what do you find works the best on makeup stains?

last year i had a gal (1st timer), who was wearing some kind of body shimmer cosmetic that stained those sheets and renderred them non-clients use only

Yeah when I worked at the salon they let a client with wet hot pink nail polish come upstairs for a massage. And it got on my best cream background (lodge print) sheets. Since they were new sheets... I wasn't very happy.
Somehow they couldn't get the idea into their heads at reception... massage first, Then Pedicure! t104

As for makeup stains... other than spotting with Shout or pre-soaking in some Oxy-clean... guess I haven't had too much trouble since MT school. I had a client lay down on the table with the greasiest hot pink lipstick... and it soaked through the paper face cradle and got on the vinyl. And it took several times of scrubbing it with different products before it came off. Don't remember what finally did it though... t102

The new Spray n' wash dual power is wonderful. It gets out all the stains from my son's baseball and my 3 yr old's spagetti on shirt, and lots of other things. I don't know about makeup but it works good on grease too.

After a massage, if I notice any make-up stains on the face cradle cover, I put that cover in a separate plastic bag -- to remind me to pre-treat the stain. For mascara, I put a little laundry soap on the stain, run it under cold water to moisten, and then rub the cloth together over the stain until the stain disappears. The mascara comes right out. For blush/foundation stains, I rub them with Spray & Wash Stain Stick (no cold water & no scrubbing needed for these lighter stains). After pre-treating, wash the covers normally with the rest of the sheets.

the Dual spray & wash is a gem, but for waterproof mascara and stubborn makeup I've found nothing works as easily as DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. (http://www.dhccare.com or try eBay)

A little bottle, about $15, will last you forever. It cleans without any greasy residue; just put a dab on and give it a rub and toss in the wash. It's like magic. This stuff is usually used to clean your face, you massage it in and then splash it off with plain water. It works equally wonderful during the change of seasons when it's humid and your face feels really slimy as it does in the dead of winter when skin is dry.

I'm also a big fan of adding borax to the laundry.

another good thing to do is pretreat it right away. this also makes a huge difference. use a stick or a spray and keep it in a drawer or wherever it's most handy for you. rub it on as soon as you take the cover off.

Just a note about the Spray n' wash dual power. If you're sensitive to scents, don't use it. It's heavily perfumed. The Spray 'n Wash Stain Stick, however, is unscented.
