Brave browser blocks Ads

Just found out brave browser blocks the Ads, so no need to scroll down 1 mile on each page to find the actual content

ublock origin also works, i don't think you can see it as a chrome extension anymore because of Google banning adblockers but if you already had it on your PC it should still work. Its also available on Firefox which you should already be using because its so much better than chrome

Firefox is def my main browser. I am not sure how chrome got to be so popular.

Laziness mostly. Gmail is the most popular service provider and Chrome lets you easily share info like account logins and bookmarks between devices wherever you have chrome installed. Also I think a lot of companies utilized Gsuite in the past for workflow but its been shifting to Microsoft 365 (at least at my job)

ahh firefox does the same thing. I have firefox between all my devices including my iphone and the lkogins, bookmarks, open tabs etc all sync.

Ahh well.

I find Brave is a bit inconsistent. I see the ads, scroll down, then suddenly it blinks and the ads are gone. But now I am at the bottom of the page and have to scroll up again.

yeah, I think it's how it handles the ad blockers. Some ad blockers checks after the page is rendered, and if the height of the page (ad?) is expected, then they don't kick in. But ad blockers that don't render the ad are then broken because they don't render the page as per the blocker detector. So Brave downloads and renders the whole then and then goes back to remove the ads. I guess during the removal, they don't do a great job at it.
