I will be making my second trip to CR in February, and was thinking about checking out some different MP's. Last time I hit up Relax (is Sharon now at Candyland?), La Mansion (still bumming that Janet retired) and Sala Criss. This time I was thinking about hitting the Calle 6 venues. I have read it is pretty safe in daytime, but had two questions.
First, I might know all of three sentences or phrases in Spanish. If I memorize a few basics and carry a cheat sheet, think I can manage? The second is more general to CR, but emphasized in less touristy areas. Last time I had a buzz cut, this time I have a ponytail. I have read that CR is sort of conservative. Any hair issues or possible flack? Bad enough I don't know the language, don't want to go all Ugly American in other ways. (FYI, not packing the shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and sandals, just wondering about the hippie hair).
