Can people track my IP address through a chat room?

Im a little worried because every time I sign in i get this douchebag telling me they have my ip and they know its me and they keep kicking me out. whats worse, is that they think im someone else and somehow our ip addresses are identical so clearly something wrong on their part.
its college chat at chat avenue.
do you think its possible for people to track my ip from there?
what do i do?
what if they somehow hack this chatroom?
a lot of people get booted repeatedly.
it is just this one person.

if u send any e-mail in order of instruction with whom u r chatting...
then with ur mail , i can trace ur ip....then i can locate ur ip easily......

If they administer the chat room then they can identify you by your IP - but ultimately only your ISP can locate an IP.

But more importantly, why do you continue to visit a chat room where everyone hates you? Even if it is a case of mistaken identify, is there anything really there for you?

You guys above have no idea.
An IP address is left behind on EVERY website. It is your indentity when online, There is a way to track down the IP in chat rooms, this reasonably advanced.
You can change your IP address, Look it up on Google.

But Site admins can see these without hacking there way thorugh.
I think some IP's can be the same anyway, (not sure though)
