Fireballs, ur reply reminded me that I forgot to ask about bath houses in TJ in my original post. I've been to some in the States but I'd really prefer a 1st hand account b4 venturing into one in a different country. The only info on google is that some exist.....even location info is rare, and one site said 'enter at your own risk'. wtf?

To answer Xbrandox's questions there are a lot of gay bars, some dance clubs, and also a few bath houses in Tijuana.

When the recession was in full swing it seems a lot of gay clubs were popping up all over the place in Tijuana and around Revolution street. I myself haven't been to any of those places, except I have popped my head in those gay bars off Revolution and 1st street off that little side street in Plaza Cecilia where Ranchero and the Hawaii are long time fixture there. But those bars seem a little bit low class. I think if you want a little bit upscale you have to go off the main tourist areas.

I always wondered what goes on in some of those gay bars that have "dark rooms" in the bars?

It's not too much money to bring, although it's possible to spend less and have a nice trip.

I carry both pesos and dollars, but I live in Tijuana. An occasional visitor doesn't really need to change dollars into pesos as dollars are accepted everywhere. What's more important is to carry small bills--ones and fives--as you'll find most people can't break a large bill and even breaking a 20 can be a problem.

A tip about safely carrying money: Buy a pocket T-shirt and wear it inside out. You'll be able to get to your money anytime, but it will be very hard for a pick pocket to get to your cash. (You can even do a session with your T-shirt on if you're worried about your somebody taking your money. That's not something you can do with a money belt, etc.)

As far as trannies go, I never quite understood that whole scene. If I'm in the mood for a guy, I can't imagine why I would ever want him to dress up like a woman. I guess it must be some kinda str8 guy thing.

I don't think that is too much money at all. Hell I can blow $300 just drinking with chicas. I know lots of guys that bring from $500 to $1500 on each visit to have fun. Just don't go counting your money in the street. If you are bringing $400, maybe keep $200 in reserve in your socks or shoes and the other $200 in a pocket.

As far as pesos vs dollars is concerned, wait and see what the rate is when you visit. I would think any value at 10.5 or greater would be worth converting to pesos for your chicas.

That's to much money to be carrying around, mind you that most of your money should be 20s, 5s, and singles. It is cheaper to exchange the money into pesos, you do get more bang for you buck, but not that much more, as I just think the green back will get them on their back. Since you need to keep money in different pockets just in case you get a shake down, it's alot more sensible to just take 200-300 with you, and if you need more, just keep a bill in a hiding place like your shoes or something. There is a tranny corner in TJ, but mind you they are very agressive as some people have reported getting rob, things stolen from, etc. Happy hunting, no matter if its for tacos or burritos, TJ provide them all. Personally I am into esorts myself, if your into escorts, cumintj has a tranny provider for you.

I'm sure this question must have been asked before, but I'm a newbie here and haven't found an answer looking thru the old threads.

I am planning my 1st visit to TJ this summer and have several cash-related questions. First, is it better, in general, to make mongering payments in pesos or US dollars? I have heard that vendors in TJ accept both, but I'm wondering if this applies to sg's and bg's as well. Even if they accept both, would paying in pesos be a better value? Secondly, lets assume I plan to make a full day day of it in, say, the alley (i.e., more than just 1 girl). How much cash should I be carrying around? Here's my math.....2-4 girls (in various configurations) in a day.....250-750 pesos each equals ~2500 pesos in pocket, plus beer and food. Add in miscellaneous expenses (I need a sombrero, lol), and that leaves me cruising the back streets of TJ with the equivalent of $300-400 US dollars cash in pocket. Is this a good idea?

Also, here in the States, I am used to stuffing dollar bills into.....ummmm...'wherever'....when a stripper is shakin her bootie in my face. Are American dollar bills the currency of choice for gringos in these situations, or is something like a 10 peso note (or whatever) more appropriate?

Naturally, any additional related info anyone would care to offer would be more than welcome.
