SAN ANTONIO — A Castle Hills spa was shut down Tuesday and a female masseuse was arrested after she offered an undercover officer sexual contact and during a massage, police said.
The Tui Na Spa opened about six months ago in the strip mall in the 8000 block of West Avenue. About two months later, the Castle Hills Police Department began a prostitution investigation after hearing of the business's high traffic and popularity with male customers, Police Chief Wayne Davis said.
“The eyes and ears of the community was what brought our attention to this particular establishment,†Davis said.
Police also received a credible tip that a patron was solicited for sexual activity while receiving a legitimate massage.
When an undercover Castle Hills police officer went Tuesday to the spa, masseuse Yi Lin Zhang, 57, solicited sexual contact toward the end of the massage, Davis said.
“He got part of the massage,†Davis said of the undercover officer.
Zhang was arrested and charged with prostitution. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
The city does not issue certificates of occupancy to sex-oriented businesses, or businesses involved in crimes, so the spa was shut down, Davis said.
A person named Greg Storrs filed Sept. 13 with the Bexar County Clerk to establish Tui Na Spa as a proprietorship.
“The investigation is still under way regarding the owner and how much he may or may not have known of what was going on in his establishment,†Davis said.
Police also are working to determine whether Zhang is the only employee suspected of offering sexual massages.
