It was created following local parlors busted for prostitution, the most recent happening last year.
“These are nice communities, family communities,” said Town Supervisor David Dunning. “We don’t need those types of businesses here.”
“We won’t accept any permit applications or new business applications which is unfortunate because we've had some good businesses that want to do business in Chili and we can't allow them to do that just yet,” explained Dunning.
Since the ban went into place, the board has drafted a code and wants the extension to finalize it – tightening laws surrounding massage businesses.
The public hearing is Wednesday at 7 p.m.
If all goes well the board will approve the extension for another six months.
