Contact Lens Questions from a Newbie.?

Just started wearing contact lenses yesterday and I had a few questions. My eyes dry easily and before using contacts I used artificial tears to wet my eyes. Yesterday when I was trained on how to put contact lenses in the doc said I can drop solution in my eye if my contacts feel dry. So instead of continuing to by artifical tears does the contact solution work the same? If I feel my eyes getting dry can i just drop solution in my eye?

Next question if I put my contact in side out would I know? I read on line that people say I would know because they would sting like hell.

Lastly not sure if I really would want color contacts but if I did I read sometimes when your pupil widens like at night the color may interfer with your vision. Anyone wear color contacts and have any issues?

I wear contacts, and it's a good idea to keep artificial tears/plain saline solution with you all the time. Some people's eyes get a little more sensitive with a contact in it. You'll find that wind, dust, etc. might irritate you more. Just add a few drops to your eyes - with the lens in. If they still bother you, take out the lens and give it a good rinse. If it's still bothering you, check the lens and your eye for any problems. If you decide to rinse your eye with contact solution make sure it's not contact lens CLEANER which does sting like hell. Also, some people find that multi-purpose solution is a little irritating. Try to keep plain saline solution around for dryness.

If the lens is inside out, you will feel it. It won't sting but it will feel odd. You'll definitely know it's backward.

I've never used colored lenses. Can't help you there.

Well for your eyes... if they dry out as your eye doctor told you just drop in the solution. Im not sure about the artificial tears, since im not sure what chemicals are in there, so im not not sure on that.
I buy the smaller pocket sized solution as my eye drops from costco for fairly cheap..
Also for your contact lens, i learned the "taco" trick

If it folds into a shape of a taco its the right side,
if its goes about half way then its inside out..
that's the way i was taught when i was a kid

as for the color contacts, im not to sure on that... i would need to research more

when you put your contact backwards it does not hurt. it's just that you dont see really well you see blurry. to check if the lense is in the right possition put it near your face. sometimes they have 123 or abc make sure the number or letters are facing UPWARDS 123 not backward like fliped.
i have never wore color lenses but there are abit unconfortable the doctor said.

you dont want to put the solution directly in your eye.. take out the contacts, put them in the case and rewetting them in that,

Yes you can use the contact lens solution whenever your eyes feel dry. You can also buy some eye drops that are specifically designed to be used for dryness associated with contact lenses. There are many brands such as Blinks or Refresh tears etc.

If you contact lenses wer inside out, then no, it would not sting, but the lens would feel uncomfortable in your eyes and the vision may be more blurred too.
