First of all let me apologize if I am putthing this in the wrong forum. I just don't know where to put this question.

I am in the process of setting up my business and I have two massage therapy rooms that need decorating, and I am not going to lie - I am struggling with it!!!! My office space is in an old physical therapy office so in each of the rooms there are cabinets (both lower and upper segments). I am struggling with this so much, and just cannot get ideas and it is driving me crazy!!!!

I want the rooms to look trendy and pretty. Anyone have ideas on where I can go to get ideas?

oh i L~O~V~ E decorating. my first piece of advice to you is to remember the least expensive and most dramatic decorating tool is PAINT. seriously, people underestimate the power of paint. choose really great colors/color to paint with. picking the color isn't always easy but it helps tremendously when you have an idea what "feeling" your going for. go to lowe's and get some paint samples and see what you like.

watch hgtv for a couple of days. they have wonderful ideas. go to their website, you'll find lots of helpful stuff. also, look through magazines. which mag's you look through depend on the mood your going for in your office. again, you'll find help with home depot or lowe's for great magazine choices. do you have an ikea near you? they have nice decorating ideas too.

remember the paint! seriously, the most important backdrop for & to begin your decorating with.

have fun!! use things you like. for instance...i love flip-flops. everyone knows me as the girl who always wears flip-flops (yep, even in the MI winter). so, i purchased a bunch of cute & bright colored flip-flops and turned it into wall art. be creative, use your imagination!

Here are some things to think about:

How much light is there in the rooms when you'll be working? (Natural and lamps)

What colors or feeling do you like in a room when you go get a massage? What are your favorite colors period, and what goes with your sheets/blankets?

What size are the rooms, and how do you need to orient your tables based on that?

What do you already have (chairs, coatracks, mirrors) that you would like to keep using?

What floor covering is there, and is it good for working?

How much money do you have to spend on decoration?

No specific ideas for you, but maybe thinking about questions like these will help you clarify where you'd like to start.

In the past I have used wallpaper murals. They really change how a room feels and arent price too outrageously. Nice ones can be had for about $125 or less. Check out http://www.environmentalgraphics.com
They are easy to put up, even for beginners, trust me, I know.

Honestly I am not sure if I can paint the walls a different color because I am renting the space. I will check with the owner of the building and see what he says.

How much light is there in the rooms when you'll be working? (Natural and lamps) There is absolutely zero natural light. I bought some stand up lamps for the rooms.

What colors or feeling do you like in a room when you go get a massage? I like a relaxed and calm feeling in my rooms when I go for a massage.

What are your favorite colors period, and what goes with your sheets/blankets? Well, since I have only a few sets of sheets I know I need to buy more. So far I have white I do like the color of light purple, so might see if I can paint it that color. Of course, that depends on what the owner says.

What size are the rooms, and how do you need to orient your tables based on that? Both rooms aren't huge and so the tables work best on an angle in each room.

What do you already have (chairs, coatracks, mirrors) that you would like to keep using? So far I have a lamp in each room. In one of the rooms I have some homemade pottery that I plan on filling with something. Other than that I am starting from scratch!!!

What floor covering is there, and is it good for working? I have blue carpeting.

How much money do you have to spend on decoration? Honestly, right now I have very little. I haven't worked since the beginning of March and it is starting to really impact me and my family!!!!

I have a friend and we are working on a deal to have him let me decorate with his beautiful landscape oil paintings. They would be for sale as well and I would get a small % as a commission.

Maybe there is an artists school in your area? An art institute? A place where those creative types go?

You could call and ask if you could have your info passed out for a barter of sorts with one of the students or write up a flyer and post it on their student info boards. Maybe you can find some help that way too.
