Does anyone know what's wrong with my Adium group chats?

This happened a few days ago. Whenever I am invited to a group chat, no new window pops up for me. In fact, my friends say that I enter the group chat and leave in two minutes.

I'm using the latest Adium for Mac version (1.4.2) and did not install any extensions or extras. I checked that my preferences did not prevent me from group chats or anything of the like.
