Mayor Rob Ford’s inaugural council meeting was overshadowed by Don Cherry, his special guest, who lambasted “left wing pinko” newspapers for criticizing his appearance at the ceremonial event.

He has no idea what he's saying and totally out of his element in City hall Council Chambers.

He comes into the workplace of council members who have been ELECTED by their voters, those of a right wing platform as much as those from the left. Not only did he insult the council members in their place of work, he also insulted all the people who voted for them.

An eccentric is one thing. An irresponsible, delusional loudmouth is another.

He needs to present a formal, educated apology in order to show he has anything resembling a brain in his head.

Appealing to the lowest common denominator by displaying your irresponsible lack of intelligence is no way to present yourself in the public eye.

The astounding level of truth to this statement is as clear as the garish idiocy of one of Cherry's blazers.

Ford thinks he's endearing himself to the 'Average Joe' by presenting himself as a friend on Don Cherry. All well and fine if you're inviting people to a Sunday BBQ. Not if you're the head of Canada's sixth largest government.

The Mayor needs to present himself with a higher level of education, vision and decorum than the rest so he can be admired and gain the trust of his public in order to lead them on a progressive path to a better future for themselves and generations to come.

This is not Rob Ford.

He wants to 'hit the ground running' and can't even see that his shoe laces are tied together.

Now, not only does he have to do damage control for his choice of guest, insult to his colleagues of whom he needs their trust and support, he also needs to clean up 'pinko' shit that someone else squatted in his office for everyone and their brother to see.

What a disgrace this is and I'm sure there's more of it to come.

The 'Rob W. Ford' era of Toronto has arrived and like venereal warts, it'll be uncomfortable, unseemly, disgusting, difficult to get rid of and leave a a putrid scar.
