Baby oil is the last thing you wish was used when you get massaged: Baby oil is cheap- it is sinthetic oil, otherwise called mineral oil.
Whoever had that great idea to call the woorst pharmaproduct to use on babies, probably never had kids or hated them. Baby (or mineral) oil will form a sort of lipidic looking film on your skin- it will look oily, will be slippery, but that's probably it as benefit. It DOES NOT HYDRATE your skin, but will indeed give you that impression... for few minutes. The skin does not absorbe it, and does not breath under it.So if you are looking to get a sticky film on your skin, get more ingrown hairs, zits and naturally dehydrate your skin- baby oil is your solution! Try to remove it- I wish you good luck!
Fathers, please do not use that oil on your babies, and guys, when you are alone, go get EROS lubrifiant from your favourite erotic store-please, treat your pride proudly!
There is nothing bad in using cooking oil for massage: because your favourite and most expensive massage oil and gels are produced by mixing the oils, that may be used for cooking. Grape seeds oil- is the base for BIOTONE massaging gel- the most popular product at best massage places in Montreal and very highly appreciated by service oriented massos. It is not that badly expensive, considering the fact that you do not need as much of it as if you were using baby oil. Grape seeds oil is used for friying in cooking, because it,s occydation happens at approx 500 degrees celcius, when most of the oils(including olive) go under 100degrees celcius, and become cancerogenous.
There are also not that bad massage oils, 100% canola, with some essential oils added for better smell. Many people will use first cold pressure olive oil for massage- not that bad idea if you're in love with that smell.
There is an excellent product also available- huile d'Argane- from Morocco- untill now the most expensive oil- apprx. 75-100$ for 1l. Can not get better for your skin. In Montrรฉal you can get that oil for personnal use at any place that sells Dr. Renaud products. Not many places will use it to massage their clients or will charge a supplement from 20$ to 50$ per massage. In France that oil is the product of today- most of the high-end spas will charge up to 300euros for one hour massage with that oil.
Any natural oil derived from vegetal source is good for massage, unless you are allergic to some particular ( peanut oil, sesame oil etc). The best for skin are the ones containing more omegas.
Let me please give you an advice: even when you look for any hydrating product for your body care- read the back panel of ingedients-if between them, you see mineral oil-put it back on the shelf- it is not worth your money.
Good luck and have a nice, silky smouth and hydrated skin!
