When I logged onto my Facebook account, I saw at the bottom that someone had chatted me. I wanted to reply, but the person was offline. If I type into the chat window, I'm informed that my chat message wasn't sent, and I'm given the option of sending the chat as a message.

My question: Did the person chat me when I was offline? Is this possible?
Also, will they receive my chat if they're offline and I don't send the chat as a message?
 
Facebook chat is messed up. The person probably wasn't offline. Facebook chat constantly makes both people in the conversation randomly appear offline, I've dealt with that numerous times before the friend and I get mad and find somewhere else to talk. The person messaged you when you were online, and then Fbook chat pulled a fail-face and made the person appear offline against his or her will. If you really want, it will get sent as a message if you ask it to. I just spam refresh and such until it works again.
 
No they could have sent the message then lost there connection. And no they wont recieve your message unless they are online or u send a private message :)
