Ive launched http://www.MassageAmerica.net. I will be posting EVERY LAST legit therapist in every state on my site. I am building the database now and expect it to be around 40,000 plus.

What will make my site unique is the amount of promotion on both GOOGLE and YAHOO search engines I will be paying for along with aggressively finding contact info for therapists from sources such as AOL, Yahoo, MSN, MYSPACE, and other sources. By being the biggest database, clients will have confidence in it.

But the most distint aspect of our site is that we personally answer, via a toll free number, calls from clients who tell us the type of massage they are seeking. We then contact our preferred therapists in whatever area the client is calling from and give her/him the clients contact information.

Thanks for pointing that out!

You will absolutely have control over your inclusion in the site. However, because of the shear volume, I will likely have to upload everyone found from the various databases. Should you get included, a simple email through the site will get it removed.

Thanks for pointing out my "over the top" objective of trying to include everyone without considering those who are not accepting new clients.

Why are Reiki and Reflexology listed under your Massage category? Both are completely separate professions from massage and require different training than a massage course.

Are you planning to provide another directory for other bodyworkers that practice such non-massage modalities as Reiki and Reflexology that you already advertise on your site?

Great Question. Thank you for asking. Under the services tab, I have separately listed Massage, Reiki, Corporate, and a technique called RELAXology.

I do have information about Reflexology under massage, perhaps I should list it separately. I think I will do just that on my next update.

The directory will be zipcode based so clients can input their zipcode and find the closest therapists to them of ALL modalities. The results will show the type of bodywork each therapist provides.

Wow dude. I see that your project is really ambitious and maybe you want the best for massage therapists, but reading through your site it sort of looks like you just want to use us. Statements like "negotiate the lowest possible rate for you," "group discounts" (for corporate chair), "we use only the best," and "we do not work with therapists that charge more than $100 for an hour of service" are all totally offputting to me. It sounds like you are (untruthfully) implying that you employ or contract w/MTs, when in fact your stated objective is just to build this big database that we have to opt out of, not choose to be in. It also makes it sound like you are keeping us greedy moneygrubbing MTs in check, getting low rates for clients (aka negotiating non-negotiable prices) and rejecting $100+ therapists as if there were a good reason for both.

Also the website doesn't say who you are, nor have you told us why you're doing this or what you'll get out of it (out of us). What's your motivation, and to put it plainly - who are you and what is your massage background?
