Find out where the bad smell is coming from on your Maltese x Shih tzu (I think shiatsu is a kind of massage).
For starters:
Stinky ears= yeast infection in ears. Stinky mouth=gum disease, tooth decay. Stinky skin= skin disease.

Or just take your dog to the vet, who will know both what is wrong and what to do. You'll need to go to
the vet, anyway, to get the dog treated.

you should only bathe your dog 2 times a month max! look at your shampoo you are using,..you should use special shampoo AND conditioner..try to make sure you get a dog kind you really should use an "oatmeal" type of shampoo and conditioner that you can usually find at your local pet store. this should help

possibly has a skin condition like an allergy or something! i had a shih tzu who had this problem no matter ho many times i bathed him or took him to the groomer he stunk horribly and found out that bathing him so much just made it worse and irritated his skin! i had to get medicated shampoo! good luck!!

Healthy dogs don’t smell if they do it is often due to a health problem. A wet dog smells and this should be the only time that they do. After a dirty walk a dog should have the mud washed off with warm water without using shampoo, then towel dried.

If your dog is washed after a dirty walk and despite regular grooming it still smells, this must be investigated. You must find out where the smell is coming from. Smell its ears, mouth and the anal area and other orifices to establish where the smell is coming from.

Please don’t delay visiting the vet, this will lead to pain and bigger vet bills. Your dog could get abscesses in its ears or anal glands. If it has bad teeth or a gum infection, an extraction may be necessary. Minor problems become major problems it they are neglected.

well the best thing to do is taking it to the vet or the shampoo isnt working good. the main thing i would do is take him to the vet cause he could have a infection and make him not smell good and feel ill

Maybe you are bathing him too often. Their skin can get irritated from too many baths and could cause him to stink. You should bathe your dog no more than once a week. Once a month would be better.
Try changing his food. Low quality food can cause doggy stink. Low quality food is pretty much any food that can be bought at a grocery store. Try blue buffalo. It's a pretty good food for fairly low price. If you want really good food, try Orijen.

Also, it could be his breath that causes him to stink. Check his teeth. If they're nasty, take him to the vet for a cleaning. That will help alot.
