I suffered complications from playing the the NFL

I have made many bad decisions in my life, suffered from depression years back, was comitted to a mental institution more than once, and most recently was addicted to paying prostitutes for sex.

I realize now, it was from playing QB in the NFL and getting hit too hard in the head region. I know this must be the reason why I have suffered so much - as referenced above - because Mark Rypien also suffered from bad decisions, depression etc., and he says its from the concussions he suffered while playing QB in the NFL.

So, if Rypiens terrible life after football is a result of concussions from football, and if I am in the same predicament as Mark Rypien, then the only logical conclusion is that I too, without knowing it, was a NFL QB who suffered the same type of concussions.

I am going to tell my wife and my mother, finally, why I have been difficult all these years. It was from all those hits to the head during my NFL years.

Guys in the military have mental health issues because of their military days. Guys in the NFL have mental health issues becaus of their football playing days. Regular people have mental health issues because..............................................yeah, that's right, everyone has mental health issues, but we don't have a multi-billion dollar league to blame for our behaviour, so we can't act like the victim and sue that league for 'compensation'.

You appear to have a mental condition that is not related to trauma whereas football players would tend to develop (in later years) mental conditions due to the physical trauma they are exposed to. Note that it is not just the NFL, the majority of these athletes have been playing football since high school and have been in practice/game conditions where safe equipment and safe practices were not always followed.

To me, you come across as someone with an addictive personality. You recently gave up seeing prostitutes, however chances are you will or have, filled the void with some other form of addiction. Once you tire of that addiction, you will find something else to fill that empty feeling. I get a strong sense that your "paying for prostitutes" days are not over because prostitutes fill both a physical and emotional need.

Fortunately you are not crazy (though many people on this board will not agree with my views), because you are aware of your situation. I think it is great that you use this board as a means of coping with your stress/anxiety.

In your otherwise regular moments your posts are controversial, humorous, and/or satirical. Otherwise, normal.

Frankly, I think Ursus simply enjoys throwing out verbal hand grenades because he knows full well that the usual suspects will react in almost comically predictable ways, like trained seals. For example, the post where he proudly proclaims he hits his wife because he got tired of being hit by her. That was some truly masterful, next-level trolling. It had just the right mix of horseshit and truth to establish enough plausibility to get a rise out of the peanut gallery. Remember, too much horseshit and everyone would just roll their eyes. Too much truth and he'd be looking at 10-15 years in prison. A true troll-master!

I also think Ursus is very lonely, which is a bit sad.

When I first saw this, I remembered hearing that suicide runs in the family. And it's true. Mark Rypien's brother Rick, who played for the Canucks died by suicide a couple of years ago.
