IHM Courses - Help please.

I'm getting nowhere fast! I have Level 3 VTCT Swedish Massage and would now like to do Indian Head Massage. I don't want to do distance learning obviously.

I have seen a couple of course where you go for 3 days (or a weekend) and then take an exam. These seem to range between £200 & £300. That would be OK providing I was happy that they are accredited etc. and which would be acceptable to insurance companies.

I have also tried to contact someone who runs courses including IHM but they never reply.

I have also seen one-day courses with no exam and some which say they are suitable for you to work on family/friends.

Where the heck do I start please?

NARENDRA MEHTA is an excellent teacher. Do have a look to see if they are doing courses out of London as I did a course with them in Wales.

I think Welshtherapist suggestion is sound, and I would use this course as yardstick to compare with other courses. If a course is a lower standard, then I wouldn't do it. There's too many people "playing" therapies out there. You only have to look at the thread on the Massage Forum about why people don't go back to massage therapists to see how bad practice reflects upon the whole industry. If you have done VTCT massage, isn't there a college near you doing VTCT IHM? Prehaps a too obivious comment to make.

My college don't do it and neither do any others in our area. I checked all that first because I was happy with VTCT and would have loved there to be a IHM couse.

Hi, We run IHM courses - 3 days with case studies and an exam. Accredited by the APNT. We originally trained with Narendra Mehta, and obviously would recommend his courses too.
