In CR next week, need a clue or two

I will be in San Jose for three nights next week. I'd like to check out Zona Blue, etc, but I don't have much experience with this stuff outside of strip clubs in Vegas, etc, and I'm going to be there alone. Any suggestions for the smartest way to approach this so that I can have a good time and not get ripped off, etc? I've been looking at the message boards but it's a lot of info to digest. Coolhand is right about the VIP membership. You're talking about hitting ZB, and doing a day trip, etc. You'll receive discounts at ZB and many other affilliated "day-trip" companies with membership. If you plan to be 'active' while you're in SJO, you'll save much more than $39 on your very first trip. And as he said, it helps to support the board. Ball's in your court.

Have fun, and be careful. Try to read as much as possible before your trip, and brush up on your español. Give us a report upon your return. And try not to step on your tongue when you walk into the BM for the first time!
