Dianne L. Polseno, 60, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and moved to North Smithfield, Rhode Island, 20 years ago.
Dianne made significant contributions to the massage field in many ways, including through her role as campus president of Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Boston, a position she held until mid-April. She was educated as a massage therapist at Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, Massachusetts, and as a nurse. She graciously shared her intellect and skills as an educator, leader, mentor, and volunteer.
Starting in autumn of 2011 she continued to inspire friends and colleagues as she battled cancer and shared her thoughts on CaringBridge.org.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 11 a.m. in the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Route 44), in Greenville, Rhode Island. Visitation is Tuesday, from 3รขโฌโ8 p.m.
Dianne gifted her body to Brown University. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, Rhode Island, 02904.
