I am getting an Infratherapist to add to my MT business. It is a bed similar to a tanning bed, but with very healthy infrared light and radiant heat. Does anyone have any experience with it?

We have an infrared sauna in out clinic.  One of the best investments ever.  10 min in there and muscles are nice and soft.  I use it all the time and work my forearms while sitting in there.

BigDogWondering what to charge for infratherapist sessions.  Have found a few places on the web that offer half hour to hour long sessions and range from $25-30 for half hour.  Does this sound about right?C.

I just let my clients use it as they want.  I don't charge for the add on.  I find some use it everytime and some don't use it at all.   But I can run it all day and it cost about $7 (a month) to run.  Not enough cost to justify adding to the price of the massage.

Just recieved and hooked up unit (fairly simple for one person to do).  Burning off manufacturing odor is highly suggested prior to use.  Tried it out last night after work for 20 minutes at 110 degrees.  It was ever so relaxing.  I drifted off effortlessly and awoke to a soft beeping tone letting me know my time was up.  I have not felt that relaxed in a great while.  I am going to try to make it a after work ritual for my overall health and well-being.  I only hope my clients will want to take advaneforum.xxxe of it as well.C.

Been using it for 3 years, it cut healing time by 30% to 40%.the manufacture BHN is out of stock till recently.  it does help relax a client prior deep tissue work and it burn excess carolies, I use it to do wraps also.  ROI is great, no maintance and use very little electricity.  $1995 plus shipping, massage pad $175.00 total investment around $2300.00.Body wraps $70.00 per session, 3 for $100. you will have peoples lining up.  try the aromaspa also. it's a good addition to your practice.

Wow, that is interesting. I think one of the gyms has one here. I will have to check it out. If it is the same she charges $50 for 5 sessions. I_Treat_Pain if your wraps are $70 per session why do you discount them so much for the package of three? Individually they would come to $210 I think I would do something more along the lines of 3 for $150 Just curious.

I Treat Pain...Checked out a few sites that offer infra therapist therapy.  The least expensive I saw was $25.00 for half an hour and 20 with any massage session.  Thought this was alittle high especially when considering my repeat clients.  Thought about $20.00 per half hour sesssion if used on its own.  $15.00 per half hour inconjunction with any massage session.  Prepaid package of (4) 30 minute sessions $???  Any suggestions.  Keep in mind no body treatments just the infratherapist.Connie

I do not have first hand experience but I was told by a company that sells it that therapists have had very successful results using it.

they offer infra at my work- its nice to use before massage on some people because it really helps to loosen them up. i would suggest a shower afterward if you have a sweaty, smelly client. you can charge for it (it is an extra service) or just have it complimentary.

Have been checking on these saunas for a while they sound like a excellent addition to my massage practice (started in Jan- here in NE).  Does anyone know if there needs to be any extra licenses or specifications for saunas?  Just to let you all know,  this web site helped me through school and Nationals--so thanks to all.  Terri
