Man Arrested for Masturbating On Flight
By Jessica Sinclair on May 24th, 2011
Associated Press
Last Thursday, a United flight patron, Kyle Pearce, 25, was arrested for allegedly masturbating on a flight to Denver.
According to The Smoking Gun, he was charged with “obscene and indecent exposure of his person,” and arrested by the FBI.

The Gawker reported that there was an 18-year-old girl who witnessed the whole thing. In a statement she said that she sat next to a man on a plane who was masturbating and heard a noise, looked over and saw his penis. She went on to say that he ejaculated and got some on the seat before disappearing to the bathroom for a “long time.”
The Smoking Gun reported that a passenger seated directly behind Pearce named Grayson Miller also witnessed the act. He said, “My friend Zach turned to me and said, ‘That man is masturbating and in disbelief, I looked and saw his penis and he was.” Miller said in a statement, “I hit him with my book in the arm, which caused him to stop and leave to the bathroom”.
According to Pearce’s MySpace page, the 25-year-old is a student at Pensacola Junior College and an amateur bull rider. He made a brief appearance Friday in a Denver court where a judge reportedly ordered Pearce held in custody until a preliminary hearing. If Pearce is convicted, he could face a maximum of 90 days in jail as well as a fine of up to $5,000.
This brings even more unwanted attention to United Airlines, who is having a rough month with publicity. Earlier, United Airlines reactivated the retired flight numbers of the two planes that were hijacked by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001 and crashed. Almost immediately after noticing the numbers, United removed them from the system.
That wasn’t the only thing United suffered harsh criticism over, a new advertisement that went public recently was taken poorly by the public. The United Airlines ad read,”You’re going to like where we land” and was located across the street from ground zero. It has since been removed.
