Is it possible to appear offline/invisible on the new facebook chat?

please read... ive asked this before and didnt get the right answer, on the new facebook chat i usually always appeared offline as i like to go on apps/games without talking to loads of people, but now on this new facebook chat, i always make sure the available to chat isnt ticked/selected so it looks like im not on facebook, but then i get people messaging me and it pops up at the bottom and it isnt an inbox! so is there anyway to appear offline or be invisible properly on this facebook chat, 10 points to the best answer! x

yes you can go offline open the chat up at the top its got like a little cog click it a drop down menu will appear first thing on the menu says "available" for chat click it and it will put you offline

nope you still cant go invisible like you can on skpe, yahoo, msn etc you can only go on or offline

edit sorry i miss read theres sometjhing wrong with your account if its doing that all i can think is contact the dvs but am sorry i dont know how

In the new facebook chat, chat and messages are integrated. Once you deselect "available to chat" you will appear offline; however, all messages to your inbox will open in a chat box. Again, this is because the systems are integrated.

Got the the chat window and then click on the sprocket button on the top right of the chat window. Then uncheck 'Available to chat'.
