I have just been inspired (after my nice afternoon nap! ) to write up a brief "newsletter" to send to our clients. I don't plan on sending out frequent newsletters (aka "bother our clients too often"), but I thought that contacting those who have come to see us during our first month in business might be a nice gesture. I'd love feedback, if you will. Please, be gentle to this pregnant momma, whose brains are often in a fog these days.
Dear clients,
Tony and Renee would like to let you know that first month in business has been a success!
opened its doors on April 1st, 2009 (no fooling). We feel that we have done very well, for a รขโฌลnew baby businessรขโฌโ. We have met and gotten to know many new clients over the past month, and we are very excited about that. We have also seen several of Tonyรขโฌโขs รขโฌลregularsรขโฌโ follow him to our new location, which is also extremely encouraging. It makes us feel like we donรขโฌโขt have to do this all รขโฌลfrom scratchรขโฌโ.
Our first month has been a roller coaster ride, to say the least. On top of the last few months' roller coaster of building, painting, permits, licenses, extra classes, and other รขโฌลfunรขโฌโ stuff involved with opening a new business, we also found out mid-month that we are expecting a new baby in December! Renee has just been certified in pregnancy massage, and as she plans on specializing in this area, it is going to be a *very* interesting first year in business: a pregnant mommy working on pregnant mommies. Talk about relating to your clients! รฏูพูน
Because of her own pregnancy, Renee will be limiting her schedule to only prenatal sessions for the foreseeable future. We thank you for understanding, and we invite you to schedule an appointment with Tony or

Well contacting your clients regularly is a great idea. I have done 2 newsletters per year (we did fall and spring), plus X-mas card (I mean holiday card), and birthday card. Not enough to annoy anyone, but keeps you in their minds.

Thanks, naturalhealing and ToG. I'm not ignoring y'all's comments (yes, I REALLY AM from the SOUTH and I DO SAY Y'ALL'S!!!); I'm masticating on them for a bit. I told DH about the letter IDEA, but he hasn't seen what I've written yet. I've been too tired and mush-brained to mess with many words this weekend. Oh, and naturalhealing, I got that last sentence from MassagePlanetL! Read the eforum.xxxline at the top. I changed it from "two weeks" to "a month", because these are, after all, *clients*, and many do regular *monthly* sessions, and I didn't want to make them feel like we don't appreciate them.

รฏูพูน I would just announce new baby if you are 12 weeks along, and your wonderful pregnancy massage services. I don't think clients want to know about permits ect..Because of her own pregnancy, Renee will be limiting her schedule to only prenatal sessions for the foreseeable future. We thank you for understanding, and we invite you to schedule an appointment with Tony or (our tenant, who is very good at relaxation massage and certain spa techniques, which Tony and Renee donรขโฌโขt offer at this time) instead (unless you are pregnant, of course.). We can give you รขโฌโขs contact information when you call the office. We would like to remind you about our referral program: for every five new clients (who actually purchase at least one 60-minute or longer session; chair massages donรขโฌโขt apply) you refer to us, you will earn one FREE 60-minute session. We all know people who are either in pain or who are expecting; if you have been pleased with our services, please send them our way, so we can help them too. Our referral program applies to clients only (has her own system). We do also have gift certificates available for any amount/type of session from 30 minutes on up. We promise that we wonรขโฌโขt bug you very often with รขโฌลnewsy notesรขโฌโ, but we wanted to thank you all for helping to make our first month a success! We look forward to seeing you again soon. And remember: if itรขโฌโขs been more than a month since your last massage, itรขโฌโขs been too long! รฏูพูนETA: I'm not sure yet whether we'll send this via email or snail mail. Email is naturally cheaper, but some of our clients don't use email, and I've found that many folks actually prefer to receive "real mail" over electronic mail. Suggestions on delivery options is appreciated, as well. For snail mail, I could go with either a printed-up letter on our business letterhead (which I've been stocking up on each time VistaPrint offers letterhead for free , or have VP make us up some nice postcards. We have probably around 50 people we'll be sending this to, so it's not like sending snail mail would break the bank. Oh, and hubby has not seen this yet, so I have NO clue how he will respond, Knowing him, he will either love it, or hate the whole idea and nip it in the bud. Depends on his mood when I show it to him, lol!
