ITEC aromatherapy kits

Hi All

I am due to start on my aromatherapy course in october cant wait!

Just need advice on good oil suppliers. I need the ITEC kit of 42 oils plus carrier oils.

Can anyone recommend good suppliers please

does the college where you are studying stipulate that you have to have
ALL 42 oils

it is really expenisve to start up - also if one of the oils is still melissa then the real stuff is very expensive

for ITEC when I did it 2 years ago you needed a knowledge of each oil and there were times in my case studies where I would say " so and so would be a good oil for this condition/massage but I dont currently have it" especially

when I did my aromatherapy course albeit quite a few years ago, the college supplied the oils that you worked with, and you didn't have to buy any.

so wait for college to start before you go out buying all the stuff. Plus if you do need to buy oils, the college may have a discounted set for you.

When I did my course, we got quotes from several suppliers and plumped for Natural Touch. One person put in an order for most of the class and got a very good price.
My understanding was that we had to have all 42 oils (including the expensive ones!), but if you buy a "kit" you'll find that the dearer oils simply come in smaller quantities. How many of them you actually use, of course, is up to you.

We have been told we need the full kit and the college have a supplier who can supply the kit for about £185 I think.

I think youre right best to wait till I start and find out exactly what I need. Seems like alot of oils (42) to start out with.

I already have quite a few like lavender, tea tree, ylang ylang, bergamot, etc etc which I use alot myself. Cant wait to get started really looking forward to it.

if this company is giving you all 42 oils for that price then I would suggest you will only get either the tiniest ammount of Melissa or it will likely be diluted and not worth it. worth asking before you buy - I am still intruegued as to why the college is saying you need to have all 42 oils - is this a condition of the course? It is expensive enough paying for the training without having to shell out in one lump sum for the oils

I've just started ITEC Aromatherapy too - and we don't have to buy all 42 oils! The tutor has said we can use her oils until we start to get our own, and though we will be expected to have some of our own oils by the time our exams start, we certainly don't have to go out and buy them all in one hit, not are they stipulating which we have to buy (though we are not allowed to use any that are NOT on the ITEC list of 42)

Btw - I have had a look at various websites - there is one called ID Aromatics who look far cheaper than the others, and minimum order only £35, but I have no idea what they are like - have posted to see if anybody else has any experience of them, so hopefully might hear back soon whether they are any good or not!

Thanks for replies.

Have started my course and loving it. We do need the full kit for our case studies and practical exam. We need working knowledge of all 42 oils even though i cant stand the smell of some of them. Its seems ridiculous i know. our tutor is trying to get a good deal by bulk ordering. i have passed on info received from you guys.

all my daughters teachers and t a's are getting bath oils made by me - luckily all female - the lollypop man likes cornish fudge, sorted him out in the summer
