K-driver must know all the hidden treasure in the area.. it is common.. almost every girl who work in late night spa, room salon or most escort service they used K-cab. cheaper than yellow cab, speak Korean, they come to them withen 10-15 mins and associate business.. but the place they take u will not be the best one in town.. ask them as veteran. if they know any new one.. if u sounds newbie than they will rip u up but if ur kewl.. u'll get something good..

The K cabbies serve a great purpose to their establishments. They get paid well. A typical trip to a casino nets them 250-300. NY to Philly 300-400. Remember no Tlc fees,taxes,just fuel and tolls. Not only do they drive, they make and pick up deliveries of various commodities.


Clothing,food,money,condoms,and get their choice of banging whomever they want if and when they go as a tip, They are also a big target by LE because they have every amp owners telephone number stored in their phones. Essentially they are the "Go between" in all businesses that are Korean owned in the city. Not such a bad gig but your are on call 24 hours for pick up and deliveries. They are the secret service of the Han gook underworld so to speak.

Some years ago, I enjoyed a KMP on Third Ave near 51st Street. Some really pretty girls there. At the end of my first visit, the mama handed me a business card with the private number. The card was "Lee's Car Service" -- except for the glossy silver stock, it looked like a legit business card. It never occurred to me that it might, indeed, be for a car service!

It comes back to me now... one time when I'd made an appointment at this same place, I arrived to find that there were no girls available (it was lunchtime). Mama was most apologetic, said she'd called a girl who didn't show up. Mama handed me $20 for carfare to make amends. This is the only time I left a KMP with more money than I walked in with!

If you've dated any Korean girls -- even civilians, you'll quickly learn that they rely on the Korean car services like kimchi. So, the KMP girls/houses use the car services with great regularity. These drivers aren't dumb and figure out where all the KMPs are even if they do not specifically work for them.

True story from last summer. I have dinner with a mamasan and one of her girls at a restaurant in K-town. This was just before they opened up their new place in an apartment building which housed another KMP one floor below. After dinner, mamasan calls a K-car service and drops me off at my apartment before proceeding onward to Flushing.

About 3 weeks later, my Korean GF calls me and tells me that "someone" (i.e., the driver) told her that I took a Korean car service from a KMP to my apartment. Turned out that the driver had taken me home one time from seeing my GF in Flushing and he remembered me and is friendly with my GF. Thankfully I was able to talk my way out of it. But the point is, the spot where I was picked up from was right next to an underground KMP which I only knew about because of mamasan telling me about it. So, this guy, who is definitely not Korean mob, knew about it simply by virtue of being a driver (or perhaps he visited on prior occasions, though I doubt it because then it would have raised issues with my GF).

Plus, do any of you guys remember "Jungle Jane?" She was an independent Korean gal who worked in '03-'04 and then retired. Anyway, she told me that she operated a car service as well as did escorting and that if I needed a car, I could call her.

I am not sure if they would give info about "hidden treasures" in nyc or other boroughs, but I often take these services to AC and I get asked if I need a girl to accompany me for the weekend. I usually do agree and I end up losing less cash @ the casino.

These drivers; more or less know or have info.
Maybe cracking a conversation about golf would get them more friendly.

like I said ... I don't know about the taxi guys on 32nd ... I'm just telling you what I've seen in another place, years ago.

Yes, it's a Domestic City ... in fact I recently looked at the section on this site, and on another site, to see what's going on there these days ... and there's basically nothing anymore. I don't know if it's just a lack of reviews, or if almost everything's been shut down. There only seem to be about 2 or 3 places left.

It used to be filled from end to end with AMPs ... lol ... and some were hidden away in some of the most interesting places. From what I understand ... you could even go out to the suburbs, in a neighboring state, and you could even have fun in these strip-mall hair salons that were staffed by K-girls. lol ... a woman could be in the chair having her hair washed in the sink, and about 10 feet away, you could be getting blow-dried by your stylist in a massage therapy room in the back.

Haha... I think you've seen too many mob movies.
In another time, another place, what you described might have happened.
But trust me, those guys are not mob. The only reason they are doing it is because of the language barrier that would stop them from getting a half decent job and driving does not require specific skills, just the knowledge of city streets.
Korean cab drivers are very common in Korean community. My mother's next door neighbor is a korean cab driver and hangs out on 32nd once in a while while waiting for a call from the dispatcher. He had a MBA degree in Korea, but due to language barrier, cab driving is the only thing he was able to do in order to support his family. He's been trying to save up some money and get out of driving to start a business, since he's got too many tickets and his license is about to be suspended.
Also, a friend of mind used to work as the dispatcher for one of a cab company. When I had some time to kill, I would visit his work, and all I see is couple of drivers sitting on the couch drinking coffee and smoking a cig, chatting about life, family and golf.

you can call them for rides. they are less likely to take non-korean speakers after a taxi crackdown. also they ferry girls here and there. there was a big deal a couple years back where they were being busted for their part in trafficking / transporting girls across state lines.

affiliated with the kmob? i dont know but prob. certainly the amp girl transit network.

i do know that more than one amp girl has told me they are the most lecherous of all men they've me...no small claim given these girls experience.

lol ... don't think that all mobsters have to be young muscle-bound guys, like in the movies.

Look at the Italian mob ... there are a lot of guys who are in their 50s and 60s ... smoking ... 50 pounds too heavy ... wearing polo shirts and chinos ... working their street-level rackets every day, making scores ... these are just guys that they haven't opened the books for ... for whatever reason.

On the surface, they're working in transportation, sanitation, food service, construction, painting, etc. Behind the scenes, they're making collections, taking bets, taking orders, running numbers, pimping, selling off jacked merchandise at discount prices, etc.

It's not just a game for dudes with pony tails who've pumped enough iron to build 1,000 battleships, and who wear tuxedos 3 sizes too small to show off their muscles.

Dude ... that's only what you've seen on the surface.

A long time ago, in a city far far away, I lived near by a section of town that was controled by the Korean mob.

The facade was simple ... chinese restaurants, a newspaper/stationery shop, etc. And the headquarters of it were the offices of a Korean commerce association (today it's billed as some sort of Korean think tank, but still at the same address).

Behind the facade were K-Mob controlled AMPs and casinos ... complete with guards wearing black and sunglasses at night, in a half-lit building.

It was so bizzare ... once the main chinese restaurant closed, on the level above it, they opened the casino in a room that was for Employees Only... with blue, green and pink neon lights ... swirling disco lights ... thumping disco ... and girls wearing satin and sequin party dresses ... an AMP was on the level above that.

The lights in the restaurant would be off, but the street-level door was left unlocked, and slightly ajar. You could see the swirl of disco lights on that level at night, when the door to the casino was open. There would usually be a dude with sunglasses standing watch, either right by the door, or on the 1st landing.

They rotated the girls between the AMP and the restaurants. They were shuttled back and forth in minivans, driven by the gurads. You could see them being herded in and out every morning and night ... kind of like a hooker clown car.

The cops shut down the main AMP after some dude got passed the sunglassed guard on the stairwell ... got to the AMP ... and hacked up one of the girls ... If I remember the newspaper report correctly, with a sword.

If I'm not mistaken, the K-Mob opened the place up again a year later ... but the cops were all over it ... sitting in their squad cars right outside the door.

Now, I know that this is a different city and a different time ... but if someone says that they have it on good info that these drivers are K-Mob guards ... I'm inclined to believe it.

It shouldn't really bother you ... unless you try to be a wise-ass with them, or a mob war breaks out while you're stolling across 32nd ... just don't forget to Duck & Cover!!!

Haha, you've got to be kidding.
Yes, they are all ex-military soldiers, (military service is mandatory for all healthy Korean male, so 99.9% of all Korean males have served in the Korean military one way or another) but bodyguards for Korean mob?
No way.
They are cab drivers that are waiting around to be called by their dispatchers, and while waiting around doing nothing, they might as well try to make a few bucks by picking up customers either for a ride, or THE ride.
I know because I occasionally use their service when I'm too drunk to take the bus to NJ. It's cheaper than yellowcab, and fast.
But some of these drivers are not properly insured and you can tell by their license plate. If it starts with OL or T, they probably have proper insurance, but if it's regular plate, they are probably operating without proper permit and insurance.

Back in the day, (like a year and a half ago) we would get drunk all the time wind up there looking for action, drivers could be very helpful with the language barrier etc. Good cheap info. I never even offended anyone with my blatant questions I used to work not too far so it was much more convienient then.
