Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply looking to ease tight muscles after a long day, Kinisi offers a hands-on approach to movement and recovery that’s rooted in community and experience. Founded by lifelong Stone resident Paul Phillips, Kinisi provides deep tissue and sports massage therapy for people of all ages and activity levels.
A Stone-based journey from sport to therapy
Paul’s connection to movement began on the local sports fields. He grew up playing football for Stone St Michaels and Stone Old Alleynians, and cricket for Hanford and Oulton, where he eventually captained the first team.
“Football and cricket were my passions growing up in Stone; these experiences shaped my understanding of movement and teamwork,” Paul said.
After earning a degree in Chemistry and working in the food and polymer industries, Paul decided to follow his heart and combine his love of sport and helping others. In 2020, he launched Kinisi, inspired by the Greek word for movement, with the goal of helping people move more, move better, and move with purpose.
Practical therapy for everyday life
At Kinisi, Paul offers a range of massage-based therapies focused on real results without unnecessary extras. He works with clients aged 9 to 91, from dedicated athletes to those dealing with muscle tension from day-to-day activities.
“It’s not just for athletes,” Paul explained. “Spending an afternoon in the garden, decorating the house, or working at a desk all use muscles that can benefit from a bit of a refresh and recharge.”
Services include:
- Deep tissue massage
- Sports massage therapy
- Tailored mobility and movement support
Rather than rely on gimmicks, Paul takes a straightforward, manual approach designed around each client’s specific needs.
Rooted in the Stone community

Outside of Kinisi, Paul plays a key role in the Stone Master Marathoners Running Club, where he volunteers as Club Captain. He leads sessions, manages the website and oversees the club championship, often blending his roles as both coach and therapist.
“People find it useful to have me as the coach and captain at the club and then look after their treatment, as they know I understand their aims, objectives and limitations,” he said.
Therapy that fits around you
Paul offers flexible, mobile appointments to make life easier. Whether it’s a lunchtime visit to your workplace or an evening session at home, Kinisi’s services are designed to be accessible and convenient.
