We are 2 newbies coming in this wensday eve. 2/24 and are staying in a non- chica friendly hotel ( Hilton Doubletree ) we won't be in our rooms until apx. 10:00 pm CR time, so we figure we can spruce-up, and be in town by 11:00 pm - ready to go. Is HLH or any other MP-gringo type hang out open, and good at this hour? After a long day of work and travel, we would just like a little nite cap & entertainment to start our trip on the right leg. Any suggestions / advise?? We could use a little direction here-

The Hilton in San Jose is called La Aurola. By the way, I wouldn't stay there!

I'm not sure where this Hilton is actually located, it's supposed to be 5 minutes from the airport, and 10 minutes from town. We have free rooms for our first nite there. If this is the location being refered to, why wouldn't you stay there???

Whats our best bet for some simple fun late on wed eve.?

Taxi to the HDR. Make sure you do some neck limbering-up exercises first so that you don't develop bad cricks in your neck when you walk in. Also some eye drops ahead of time because you might forget to blink. Search previous posts for local hourly hotels because I don't think the place you are staying is chica friendly, but check on this.

That is close. It is the Doubletree Cariari by Hilton. Halfway between the airport and Parque Sabana. It was franchised to Hilton awhile ago.

MP's aren't open at late night. If you only have one night and coming in late, then just stay in the Del Rey, all the girls you want one elevator ride away. Anything else will just use up time.

I agree with Hikertom, for one night and it being late, HDR. The cost concerned can stay at Hotel Morozan which is right down the street. You stated first night of your trip. Are you leaving SJ the next day?
Girls will be at the Del Rey.

stay at the Morazon small rooms are $57 w/tax and key for safe and $98 for large Jr. suite on the fifth floor.

Not bustin' here but unmentioned by the new Brother is what time he has to be active the next day. Reluctant as we are to recommend the HDR, it's probably your best choice...for 1 day. Especially if you're a leche-monster those Chica fees ($10 each) will eat you up. Your choices of Chicas is not confined to the HDR itself--across the street is the Key Largo w/live music. Remember, find a sweet tica or nica--those Colombianas will cost you more and eat you alive (and not necessarily in a good way). Save the free night at that other place if you can for a non-mongering night/trip.

A good late night spot is Panterra Rosa. It really does not get going until Midnight and goes to daylight. They hve a full service motel nxt door for hourly rentals
