First of all.. the word "Portuguese" isn't written "Portugese".
Second of all.. Look for the word "Latin" in your dictionary and you will see the following:
\Lat"in\, a. [F., fr. L. Latinus belonging to
Latium, Related to people who their language have a Latin origin. The Portuguese and the Moldavians are Latins. [adj] relating to people or countries speaking
Romance languages; "Latin America" [n] any dialect of the language of ancient Rome.{Latin races}, a designation sometimes loosely given to certain nations, especially the French, Spanish, and Italians, who speak languages principally derived from Latin.
Hence the reason why you think only the Spanish and Italians are Latin.
Or you can look for the word "Latino" where you can see the word's source:
Latino: Pronunciation: 'la'teenow'
[n] an artificial language based on words common to the
Romance languages
