List of Insurance Denied providers

While looking at the Great West Life web portal noticed that they have a 20 page long list of various providers (not just massage) whose receipts will be denied. They include the effective date for each. Most of the listed businesses are in Ontario and QC. But there is the occasional one from Calgary and Edmonton. Wondering if other insurance companies have similar updated lists for clients to check out?

They probably consult each other's lists. Would be better if there was an app that would provide end users like us an integrated view, so we would know in advance. Noticed that some of the same names repeated over and over with many different addresses. These are the scam artists who loaned out their massage registration to many outfits, so they could take a cut without doing the work. Don't have a problem shutting down these thieves.

Log in directly into the GWL benefits site and you will see it on the right hand side. Caught me by surprise. It might have been there before, but today is the first time that I actually saw it.

Still point. Was upstairs at yoga spa on jasper ave and 112 street affiliated with 107st circle tanning salon there was a gal there by the name of Kelly that was able to make a guy relaxed with a grind front ear to ear

Given the volume of providers they deal with, I'm not sure they're surfing boards like this, etc. I've had my receipt denied from some very reputable appearing massage places (fully draped, not even a hint of anything, very professional) and some from pretty sketchy places have been fine.

These are probably legit places that let multiple ladies use one or a few rmt numbers. Probably wouldn't even have to be at the place to see that happening.

Yes, they do. But the owners who manage carefully maintain daily charts, so only a precise number of receipts are issued against any one RMT's membership number. They also keep good records, so when an insurance company calls to check a specific receipt, they are able to echo that information back. The real cheaters in the business who would simply pre-sign books of receipts and give them to spas for a fee are pretty much cooked, as they should be.

Denials are usually specific to one insurance provider. So in this thread knowing the insurance company name will help to know which companies are becoming more rigid. In the GWL denial list most were in Ontario, Quebec and were therapists who were outright crooks, loaning their name and number to umpteen locations, just to get a cut. Those therapists (fraudsters) should be in jail as far as I'm concerned and barred permanently, no loss to society. The therapists who provide good massage with a he should not be harassed by these insurance companies (the insurance companies' business models are based on robbery, too). Plus more and more people are using their HSP, health spending account, and people should be able to use it for whatever improves their physical and mental health. So if anyone from an insurance company is reading this, advice .... back off and bugger off, pursue real fraud, thank you. And that's my rant.

Spexx, as a gentle piece of advice, I would not post information on the type of building etc that someone we care about operates in. Imho, the less info, the better.
