JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) - A licensed massage therapist was indicted on a sex charge earlier this month.
A Washington County grand jury indicted Craig W. Roberts with felony sexual battery.
According to the indictment, the alleged incident occurred July 31, 2018. It says Roberts "did unlawfully, knowingly, intentionally, and feloniously have sexual contact" with the victim without consent.
A Johnson City police reports states it happened at The Salt Mind Experience at 207 N. Boone St. That's where officers arrested Roberts two days after the alleged incident.
The Tennessee Department of Health's website lists Roberts as a licensed massage therapist from Piney Flats. According to the department, he was cited in 2012 for failure to maintain sufficient continuing education credits. His license was placed on probation in February of 2017 but it was lifted in August.
The sexual battery charge against him is a Class E Felony, according to the indictment.
Roberts is scheduled for an appearance hearing in Washington County Circuit Court on February 1 at 9 a.m.
