passport rules?

Hello All:
As far as I know the latest rules are that a copy of your passport once again suffices if you get checked. Is anyone aware of the latest info?

Under rules revised in the past few weeks,

A photo copy of your passport is acceptable, however the police retain the right to accompany you back to your hotel and examine your actual passport.

You must also have a photo copy of the immigration entry stamp.

Does this apply when occupying a hotel, or is this a requirement around the clock on the street?

If so, I'm going to have a long talk with my company, that has never informed us of such a rule.

You need to have a copy of your passport on you at all times to be IN THE COUNTRY!

It's your visa. The entry stamp shows that you're within your 90 day limit.

Of course if you're part of a flight crew you might fall under different rules.

I was at the Arcada some night last week (forgot which) and there was a 'migra' raid there while I was upstairs in the room. It was comical really. Nobody got hauled away that I know of.
