Just curious...are they using VOIP (voice over internet provider) via a cable
modem (or high-speed DSL line)? That is relatively cheap compared to
phone company/ICE connections. If they aren't, how can they afford the
cost? I've read reviews saying that VOIP, which transmits in packets, is
usually very good, with reception equal to regular phone lines. I have
heard that some people have experienced occasional 'drop-outs', and
if the power goes out, you're screwed, which could be a problem in CR.

Monday night after an outstanding session with Lenora, Eddie asked me if I wanted to call anyone. I said, "To the states?" and he said, "Yeah".

So I called Mom to say hello. The connection sounded like I was across town. I think he did say it was "voice over internet provider" but since I hadn't heard of it before it sort of blew right by me.

There is an extremely cheap internet phone deal, called vonage....a friend of mine in rio is using....that might be it.

voice over ip has been around for a while, it is gaining popularity.

For medium to large businesses it can be cost effective since it uses the current LAN, internet infrastructure to send voice data over the computer network. (A completely separate phone system, voice mail system many times is more costly).

Today SBC sued long-distance carrier AT&T Corp. for at least $141 million in fees for calls that were routed in some part over the Internet—by VoIP. Apparently, AT&T considered them local calls as it was combining the Internet with local service. The question of how to charge calls that go over the Internet is still up in the air—it’s going to be a hot topic!

The name of ZB, at least on the website, is "Hotel Zona Blue"...Do they actually rent out rooms as a hotel would, or is that simply the name for certain legal/practical reasons?

Hello Members,
Zona Blue is definitely a great experience.I just got home after two weeks
in San Jose.I made four trips there at between 10 am -2 pm probably.
I was surprised to see the little plump hottie who tends bar at the Piano Bar there on thursday working the front desk.Always a great selection and way better service than any of the younger girls I met at bars and clubs.The girls always knew also that I was a CRT vip member and would mention "Costa Rica Tica VIP member Thats gooood."
Maybe its because they knew I saved some change and were hinting a better tip, but I think eddie knows we're great for biz and makes sure they take care of us.Anyways eddie took me around in the van one afternoon and seems like a good fella to know.Great place awesome service.My recommendation is
Marsella I think is her name.About 5.9 and only 100 lbs maybe.
She has short black hair and light skin and is from San Pedro.Not the most physically appealing when you look at them all sitting there,but trust me great service.Had to have her on my last day again without question.
Will be my first stop next time.
