New to CM some help about chair selection

Hi to all, I 'm new to CM , I was wondering if someone can please pointme in the right direction to buy a good but cheap chair.
I read the reviews on this forum, but really don't see more diferents from one to other.

Is that a good chair for a start?

Any one knows about brasilian chairs? are they good?

Hey there and welcome.
I am sure you know that good and cheap usually don't coincide.
You should buy the best rated chair within your budget.
A "cheap" chair may cost you more in the longrun....you may need to replace it sooner...and heavens forbid, someone could get hurt on a lower quality chair.

All of the chairs I have seen mentioned on this site are rated very well....
I don't know of the Brazilian chairs. Check if they are weight rated and compare with other companies you find.

Well, as nybor7 mentioned, you will most likely get what you pay for. However, Free Shipping and $189.00 may be a pretty good combo if you are looking to get started in the business and will be using this as a start-up chair to get you going.

I like a stronglite chair myself, but, if I had been new to massage and wasn't sure what direction I was going, I'd probably have leaned toward spending less, seeing how it worked for me, then later selling the inexpensive item and purchasing one that was more durable, better known for it's long term use, etc.

If you do decide to purchase it, please post the info at Bargain Chairs, so others can know how it holds up!

I just looking for a chair so I can beging on the bussines.

I think I will have to keep on reading and making numbers, and see what I can get.

BTW when you say "reaplace sooner" you mean about... moths ?

Although I am not the one who wrote about "replacing sooner", I'd figure you are either looking at "ASAP" because there is something you can't work with regarding the chair, or in a few years.

I have had my chair for about 5+ years now and nary a problem. So, you may get lucky and keep a bargain chair for many years or it may just break down on you. There's really no way to know without hearing and reading feeback from others.

I believe that is why NC kneader, started the stickied threads in this section, which list the different types of chairs so all therapists on this forum would review there own chair and provide something beneficial for others in the future.

Agree 100%, but sometimes you just pay for the name, that's why I ask here .
I think that will have to grab what I can and test my self.
If all goes as plan I'm sure that in a couple of moth I will be able to buy a better chair.

The Stronglite chair is the best (i.e. least worst) designed chair on the market. If anyone disagrees, I'd love to hear your reason why.

well may be the stronglite is the best chair, but it cost the double of the one that I post.

Go around and get chair massages, just for about 5 minute sessions, or whatever is their least amount of time... see how the clients feel... you don't have to tell them what you are doing, but you are doing research for yourself.

I honestly hate the stronglite chair... I hate it both as a client and as a therapist... I have the oakworks Portal Pro, I invested my money, and very happy with my purchase that I know will be around for a while. Even though I don't depend upon chair massage for my business.

I think even if you plan on buying one in a few months, it is definietly worth it to spend the money now... when you won't have to go out and buy another one down the road. Don't waste your money on a crappy chair!

Pete, it's nice to see more info on a bargain chair. Would you mind posting a link and whatnot in the Bargain Chair section? I know I for one, would like to look at it, and possibly make a purchase of a second chair, and this may well be the "one".
