Okay, I am a 14 year old girl and I've been using pads since I was around 10. Now, I want to start using pads and I have asked my mother, but she is EXTREMELY against using tampons, or at least younger girls using them who have not had sex yet (AKA, virgins).
Anyway, my problem is that something seems to be blocking my plastic applicator from going inside my vagina, which I think is my hymen since I haven't broken it yet and it seems to be pretty thick. When I try to push it in slowly, its a little painful and doesn't seem to want to go in anymore. I've tried with a foot on the toilet, squatting, and sitting on the toilet. The brand I am using is Playtex sport in regular.
Am I not angling it right? Or is it because of my hymen? If it's my hymen, what would be the less painful way of "breaking" it?
Please be descriptive and thanks in advance!
