Newby to AmpLand--Are byname requests OK?

I have read all the stickies in this forum. Makes it seem as though calling ahead and making a byname reservation request is NOT a good idea. But some of the reviews seem to indicate otherwise. There is a particular therapist that I would prefer at Jade. Can I call ahead and make a byname request? Would the request taint my visit? just go and see what chance brings my way?

I am a little confused. I have never heard of calling and making a request being a bad idea. I do know that some guys prefer not to do so. If that is their preference, then that is best for them. For several years now, I would not consider doing otherwise.

When I started I read a lot of reviews of each girl to form an opinion of who would be good for me. Then I always made a reservation. A particular girl could be booked, off for the day, starting later in the day, on vacation, etc.

I see very few now and have known them long enough that I call direct. The important part is that I call. Because I don't want to be disappointed.

I might add that there is no absolute guarantee that the girl will be available. Sometimes there is a mixup or for some other reason she is not available at that exact time. Then you have the option of choosing a Plan B or waiting for another day. I have had that happen, but rarely. With those that I see regularly for the last few years, we know each other well enough that I am cool with waiting. Believe me, that attitude will take you a long way when you do get her in the room.

Good advice from Torito.

I always call ahead for many reasons, but primarily to make sure that the girl I want to see is actually working that day and/or will be available when I get there.

That being said, until you've established a relationship with some ladies/locations, calling ahead is no guarantee that she will be waiting for you with bells on. This is a business after all, and the old saying "A bird in the hand.......yadayadayada".

Making an appointment at the AMPs is kind of like calling ahead at some restaurants, you get preferred seating rather than a guaranteed sitting when you get there. But it does improve your odds tremendously.



Now, a word of caution - if you call and ask for a "therapist" at one of the AMPs, it will be them hanging up and not you. Some of the suburban spas do have licensed "therapists", but not the AMPs in and around Emerald.

I'm about positive that if you call to make an appointment they will expect you to ask for a provider by name. In fact it will surprise them if you don't have a name in mind.

And the girl will appreciate you doing that. Getting asked for by name is a nice compliment for everyone - even these beautiful asian girls.

No need to be even the least bit uneasy about it.

Calling and making an appointment may be the only way you'll get to see some of the more popular girls.

Calling ahead is always a good idea. I have had good luck getting the girl of my choice by calling ahead at most of the Dallas Amps. The only exception of late has been Blue Angel where the rarely answer the phone!

Calling ahead is definitely the way to go if you already have a gal in mind from the reviews and I've never heard of it being a problem for the establishment. The only time I wouldn't call ahead is if you don't know who you want to see and would prefer to see the gals in person before selecting one. I've done that once or twice but don't really like the lineup--it just feels a bit awkward and too impersonal to me, so I pretty much always call ahead.

I should also add that I think calling ahead and requesting a gal by name decreases the odds of you being viewed suspiciously. Of no consequence for someone who's known at the establishment, but if it's your first time there, it seems like calling ahead and requesting a gal by name puts them more at ease.

I agree with everyone. Calling ahead if you want to see someone in particular is a good idea. In the past, I wanted to see some of the more popular girls, but they were always either busy or didn't work for that day. And so I left. Eventually it got to a point where they gave me a business card and insisted that I call.
