PORT ANGELES — Susan Sherman will present a lecture on state rule changes from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The lecture will be held at Halberg Chiropractic, 228 E. Laurisden Blvd.

According to a press release, Sherman is the owner of the Port Townsend School of Massage and has been involved with the state Board of Massage.


Licensed massage therapists can earn two continuing education credits by attending the workshop.

A donation of $10 is required to cover costs.

Tax workshop

PORT ANGELES — The state Department of Revenue will host a workshop on business taxes from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 15.

The free training session will be held in the Clallam Transit System conference room, 830 W. Laurisden Blvd.

The workshop will cover excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements.

Attendees will receive a workbook and a reference guide to Revenue’s rules and regulations.

Stars of Tomorrow auditions set Jan. 17

PORT TOWNSEND — The Kiwanis Club of Port Townsend has set a date for auditions for its 32nd Stars of Tomorrow show.

The annual talent show features local youths performing music, drama and dance.

The auditions will be held from 3:15 p.m. to

5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Blue Heron School, 3939 San Juan Ave.

The show will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 in the auditorium at Port Townsend High School, 1500 Van Ness St.

Proceeds from the show benefit Kiwanis Club scholarship programs.

Port Angeles couple wins garden award

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Garden Club recently announced that Sandy and Virgil Goodman are the winners of the autumn Green Thumb award.

The Goodmans won the award for their yard at 2130 W. Seventh St.

Sandy has a degree in environmental horticulture and Virgil learned bonsai while stationed in Hawaii.

The couple previously owned and operated a nursery in California.

The garden club selects a residential garden for its green thumb award in the spring, the summer and the fall.

In order to be considered, the garden must be planted and maintained by the homeowner without professional landscaping.
