I can't say much about the draft, but will make these comments. When Brees was available the defense was very good in Chicago. If they could score then their defense may be more effective not having to win the game themselves.

Oakland will benefit when Al kicks the bucket or completely gets away from decision making. It won't happen overnight however.

I would not touch that. Belichick is mastering a game plan that is going to make the New Yawkers heads spin. I guarantee that he has studied every game they have played for the Tom Coughlin regime and is going to throw things at them that none of us have ever seen. In professional sports anything can happen but the Giants are counting on this hot steak for Eli Manning to continue. He has never played in an atmosphere as intense as the one he is about to and I don't think he can sustain his momentum. The old Eli "Pick off" Manning is somewhere lurking in the shadows. If the Giants had Peyton maybe but Sheli?

Like them or not the Patriots are awesome. The New York defense only held them to 38 points last time. If the Giants get behind early this could be ugly.

Dondulce, thanks for bringing up this thread again, I had almost forgotten about Pro Football until the recent draft news !
I agree with Sampson, Drew Brees is what the Bears needed at QB. But at the same time, the Bears need a lot of guys in othe key areas including their formerly much vaunted defense. The Ravens have a similar situation to the Bears, a perennial QB problem !
And as for You Fireballs, Mcfadden or not, the Oakland Raiders arent going much further either, it looks like that team just doesnt have a synergy. Can someone tell me whats wrong with the Raiders ?
So guys what do you think of the Draft in general, Which team do you think made the best picks, was Long deserving of the 30 million plus guaranteed ? I dont agree with huge payouts to a guy who hasnt proved yet in NFL even if he were a college superstar. You agree or disagree ?

I'm impressed that four USC Trojans were selected in the first round. I don't recall that many players being drafted first even in their first heyday when they use to run the ball.

I see the Raiders drafted Darren MCFadden, great move on their part, as I'm sure he'll be a great running back?

Who owns the Rams now since Georgia Frontiere, died? I hated that bitch when I was a kid, and followed the Rams when they were in San Diego.

Allright guys, I did not anticipate using this website for football advice, But I do have a co-worker who is a big patriots fan and he says he'll give me 13 points if I take the giants. I tried to push him to 14 and a half but he wouldnot budge. Right now I'm thinkng I should take the points since the giants gave them such a tough game at the end of the season, but what do you think jimdandy, bohemian? amigomio, personally I think a clasico between tigres and rayados would be more exciting, but focusing on the other "football" what would you say?

Well, some great playoff games (especially Giants/Pack and Giants/Cowboys) and I hope the Super Bowl this year doesn't dissapoint. I just hope for a competitive game. I think the Giants have a fighters chance. Its been a fun NFL season, I get depressed when the season is over but there's always the Draft in April LOL!

Favre loved to compete and I respect that more than his talent. I don't know how he will be replaced, and he had the "heart of a lion".

Very soon March Madness will get rolling, and those kids compete as well, and I live for it. Those first four days, I believe are my favorite 4 days of the year.

One more observation before this post dies until next year. NE Patriots lost to the Broncos 2 years ago in Div Playoff, then lost to the Colts last year in AFC title game, and now to the Giants in the SB ! So the team which was a specialist in doing other teams in playoffs is finally got a big dose of its own medicine by the law of averages. They can have a small "orang utan" on their back now
And dont tell us about whether Giants will win the SB next year ! they should be thankful for one !
ANd so the legendary Brett Favre finally retired, the real icon of Pro Football, rain or snow, injuries or no, he played like no other, truly an Americas player !

Right LBFM, Thanks for your post. Remember the Cowboys of 90s Emmit Smith, Troy Aikman. About NE, Yes its amost like whole of USA outside of NE wants NE to lose, now can CHargers deliver ?. I would give them a 10% chance, heck thats a lot better than winning a lottery. They got to do something different, rush Brady, disrupt his timing, and most of all they need LUCK (read interceptions, fumbles, turnovers).Let me be a smart ass and post both my predictions (I cant go wrong with this, its like an Options spread

oh how sweet it is to make a little extra dough with the pats going down. After seeing their performance in this super bowl I don't have much respect for their place in history. Jimmy johnson's cowboys would have killed them- they knew how to rise to the occation!! I spent so much energy trying to strecth my spread to 14 points and I did not even need it.

I'd love to see the Chargers win.
Having been a Cowboys fan since I was a little kid, I've heard about all the good and bad someone can say about a team.
They've been awfully good and they've been God-awful terrible.
I think the Patriots now qualify for the Cowboys/Yankees/Notre Dame syndrome where a lot of people just want them to lose because they're tired of hearing about them.
That said, Go Chargers and I don't care who else.!!!

And so the Chargers will meet their "Nemesis" this Sunday ! Anyone think the "Chicas Club" Chargers gonna win the AFC game and why. I think the main problem they have is the injuries obviously. Heck, Tom Brady never seems to get injured !
And wow what a game that was to watch the "winter wonderland" unfold in Green Bay, nothing like Football in a good snowfall in the north, it almost seemed surreal like from the movies with the "gun slinger" Brett Faver et all!
