Cicero, N.Y. — A 47-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in connection to a raid on an illegal spa in Cicero, police said Saturday.
Police received tips about suspicious activity at SF Spa at 5905 E. Taft Road, said Lt. James Meyers, a spokesperson for the Cicero Police.
Officers executed a search warrant at the spa and found that the only worker at the spa was not licensed to give massages, Meyers said. The spa was involved in illegal sexual activities, he said.
The woman was arrested and charged with prostitution and unauthorized practice and unlicensed massage, he said. She may have been living at the spa, he said.
Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard is not identifying the woman because sometimes those working at illegal spas are victims of human or sex trafficking.
The woman was issued appearance tickets requiring her to return to Cicero Town Court.
The investigation was done by the Cicero police and State Police.
