pamper party !

Hi, my sister-in-law has asked me if I would do a pamper party for her and friends, she is talking about 5 or 6 people, now I havent' done one of these before so if anyone has any suggestions I would be really grateful, I have heard that normally you would do 2 treatments, 20 min each, I do aroma, IHM, and also beauty, so I suppose there is a variation in treatments, also what kind of price would I be quoting, would it be per party or per person, any suggestions please !

I also plan to offer these and had planned to have a max of 4 including the host, and give 45 minutes treatment to each at a cost of £20 each with the host getting hers/his for £10.

I wouldn't mind hearing everyne elses thoughts on this though.

I'm doing one of these soon and my friend who'd hosting it has invited 16 people!! [] I'm planning on givinga short talk and demo on Reflex and then offering 15 minute taster treatments to as many as possible. I'm not charging but asking for doantions towards my fundraising for my Bosnia trip. I don't know how this will work yet, so I'd be interested to hear what everyone else does.

Personally, I don't like to charge friends and family much if anything. I guess you just see how much time you have and divide it by the number of people. The important thing is letting people who haven't tried a therapy before get a taster, rather than someone who for example loves aromatherapy jumping in for a freebie!

I did a pamper evening in Nov at my sister in laws. Did a 13 minute relaxation tape then took 2 people upstairs at a time and had one at each end of the massage couch and did shoulder and neck massage (my sister did it with me). I took lots of literature/vouchers/flyers/20% off vouchers. I charge each person 5.00 (may charge 7.00 next time. Everyone enjoyed it.

I also do pamper parties. I only offer reflexology and IHM massage. I will do IHM massage for 4 poss 5 depending on how much time there is, or 2 reflex and one IHM for 3, etc. I think it depends on you too and how tired you may get. I like to give the full treatment rather than just a taster, so it's better to keep the numbers down. The host pays half price for her treatments but sometimes there are several people wanting to attend so we split it into two or three evenings. I will then give the host a free treatment for having everyone at her house more than one time. I find they are very popular for the initial treatment as a lot of people don't like to go alone to see a therapist. Once they get to know me and see what is involved they usually book to come to my practice for a more relaxing and beneficial treatment.

Hello there, i was wondering, people say they give taster treatments on reflex and IHM for about 15 mins, but how do you give a treatment so quickly???? what do you do???? 15 mins for reflex, will they get much of a taster???

For reflexology tasters, I usually book each person in for about half an hour, although the actual hands on treatment time is around 20 minutes. That time includes me asking their name, address and going through the contraindications and just a very brief explanation about reflexology, what it does and that this is just a taster session.

Then I do some opening movements to relax them, work on the central nervous systems (head and spine), neck and shoulders and walk up and down each zone and across each guideline, then a give a short foot massage. The client has a couple of minutes to relax and then I give them my leaflets, etc.

If I have only fifteen minutes with someone for reflexology, I spend about 3 minutes at the start and finish doing relaxation techniques, and in between doing the lung, sinuses and spinal reflexes as these are the ones which I find most commonly tender. I tend not to do the lymph zones / tops of feet as not everyone likes that so much. It's not ideal, but a short treatment is better than none, hmm?

i agree. on taster sessions i have done, i tend to do relaxation, all toes, chest, spine, large colon.

i always explain that its not a whole treatment and explain which bits have been left out.

i think as a taster, it works quite well.

as for pamper parties, this is something i have been mulling over for a few weeks now. i have some therapy friends who are quite into the idea, its just a question of getting off my backside and getting on with it.
