This is the old Chica Dorada/Club 40, not to be confused with the current Jet Set which is where the OLD Pension Flamingo used to be, 2 doors east, more or less.

I was showing a couple of guys some bargain places and the number of girls and attitudes in this place was way above expectations. I'd guess maybe a dozen, of which 3/4 were probably too thick for most of us, but there were two or three that were VERY personable, cute and young looking.

I have not yet returned to try any of them out, but when I do I will DEFINITELY ask for ID from the younger looking ones. They were probably of age but it really REALLY pays to be safe.

But for bargain hunters it was better than any of the other sub 15k/.5hr places. They have a bar in there too. My only complaint was the music was too loud, but can't have everything.

Actually it's 2 doors WEST, not East of Jet Set (aka the Dungeon and 70E). Same block, same side of the street. I didn't say 747, I said Jet Set. Av 7 between Calle 0 and 1.

Yes, that spot has an endless chain of girls ranging as Bilko says from thick to cute and young....don't discount the thick so quickly, I have spotted many, and mean many of you players with the BIG girls....anyway.just don't like to talk about them so honestly

there are a number of off the beaten track type MP's where you can go in and have a beer and in some cases food.

iT MAKES IT A LOT EASIER TO CHECK OUT THE VIBE OF THE PLACE INSTEAD OF A QUICK ...THIS SUCKS...LET'S GET OUT OF HERE..

HERE are a few, La Mansion, Bar Flamingo..(2 locations0, las Gatitas, Carolitas, VIPs 1&2, candyland, New Fantacy, Edem, HLH, las Tangas and a place on the blvd about 3/4 of the way to Merced park walking westerly

If you did a pub crawl you could have quite a buzz on by the time you got back to where ever

Thanks for updates Bilko and livincr. I miss vivting those places since I don't get to CR very often any more. The US econpmy has taken its toll on me and no money for those short trips to CR any more. Anouther place that comes to mind used to be named Bar Cameron on Calle 4 between Ave 6 and 8. It can be a fun place and sometimes has some talent. Not sure of name now and livincr may have mentioned it. Place stays open til midnight and is right next to adult theater.rbc100

yes, it's still there...and they serve a nice cold beer...most of the cliental seem to be working ticos just getting off work.

Many with ties..as worn with a shirt..if you're at all interested in the Tico culture it's an easy place to talk with some educated Ticos and learn a little something...

Anouther place that comes to mind that I usually visit when in town is Bar Camelot which has been around a long time. Opens about 3 PM as I recall.rbc100
