Overall Impresssion:
The Pirate Club is not the Park Hotel show… but it has the potential to be much better if organizational and location problems can be overcome, and in some important ways it's already better. The quality of the girls is definitely better. I think this show has the potential to be more famous and more profitable than the Park Hotel show was at its height. And the Park Hotel show was indeed famous… we're still talking about it aren't we?
Notes:
After coming down from our hour session, there was quite a change in the bar… it was filled to overcrowding with gringoes. There were probably about 50 guys there, and perhaps about 20 girls. Looks like Ken has done an excellent job of getting the word out. I think he's exceeded his expectations. There were a couple of things that stood out:
As for the show itself: in some ways it was superior to the Park Hotel show, in others, not. Here are some of the better points:
Not as good or needs improvement:
Final Notes:
I expect to be back in San Jose next weekend (I actually made a special overnight trip just to see this show), and I will definitely vist the Pirate Club, probably during the day, to see the two I sessioned with, and possibly one other of the regulars that I thought had outstanding looks. Given its out-of-the-way location (the Park Hotel was a short walk from the Hotel Presidente, and I walked over many times during daytime), Ken needs to make sure that gringoes know there are good looking girls there at other times than during the show, and make it as easy and attractive as possible to get over there during non show times. Bottom line: if the better girls don't get enough customers, they'll leave. A couple of suggestions: publicize the taxi driver better (he drove me back over the Sportsmens' Lodge after the show… a good guy), have more snacks at the bar, put liquid soap dispensers in the showers and make sure the inline water heaters work (often times, if I know I can shower well, I'll go over to a place, session, shower, sit at the bar for an hour chatting, then go up for a second session. I did that this time, but it was a cold shower!)… and there's probably a whole lot more that can be done to increase business at non-show times.
I had a good time and will go back. Next show last weekend of October -- I'll stick with the SL Halloween Party, but any other time I'm in town, I will catch it.

Notes:
- The girls are definitely doable (I did two), and there are a few standouts among the regulars (a few others were invited especially for the show, I gather). I arrived early (around 6 or 6:30), as I had read that you had to come early in order to purchase a seat at the bar. I took a very cute little Nica upstairs for an hour before the show. Excellent, excellent session, and I intend to go back to see her again. Cost was 24,000 colonnes, with mention of CRT membership.
- At the time I arrived, there were three or four Ticos and about six girls at the bar. The regular girls seem to have a very good camaraderie, even though two of them told me they have been there for only about a month. In my opinion, that's a very good sign. I still maintain friendships with three or four of the girls from the Park Hotel, who continue all these years later to still talk about how close they became as a group. It seems to be a key indicator that the girls take a pride in doing their work well, helps keep a lower turnover which in turn keeps the best girls there, and in general just makes for a better atmosphere amongst the girls, which makes for happier times for the customers.
- Lack of crowd control: at one point Ken had to ask everyone to hold up their tickets. In a room as crowded as that was, the house needs to manage the crowd for safety and to maintain the quality of the show… so that everyone can actually see what goes on at the bar, is comfortable, etc.
- The bar there is smaller the the one that had been at the Park Hotel. The Park Hotel used to accommodate as many as twelve girls at a time on the bar. I think the max for this place might be around eight. That means that if you don't have a seat at the bar, you don't get to see the girls well enough, and don't get an opportunity to touch, rub oil, whipped cream, or whatever if you like what you see.
- Crowd management during the show was not good. Several guys took pictures… Ken kept trying to control that, but had lost control. That's important, because not only don't the girls not want their picture published, but the guys don't either. That's the reason that Bill banned that at the Park Hotel in the late 90's. Ken could benefit from creating a new version of Bill's old speech before the show… it went something like: "There are three rules for this show. One, no photos. Two, no sticking fingers in the pussies… it makes them sore and they can't work. Three, audience participation IS required." Ah, just thinking about that brings back so many fond memories.
- Related to crowd management: another very good thing that Ken might adopt from Bill: no girls at the bar during the show. There were at times up to five girls in seats at the bar during the show. That means five guys could have sat in those seats and could have had a much closer view. I think there are about 25 seats there at max, so that's very significant. Bill never had to announce that… but all the girls at the Park Hotel knew that. Related to that… it would probably be a good idea to reduce the number of seats at the bar during the actual show, so that the guys in the back can have a little space to sidle up and get close to the action.
- I noted that quite a few guys left before the show ended. I can only assume that space/seating issues played a role in that.
As for the show itself: in some ways it was superior to the Park Hotel show, in others, not. Here are some of the better points:
- Better quality of girls. The Nica I invited up before the show was in the show (she was the one with the garter on her thigh). So was another of the girls I'd had my eye on, a Tica with an incredible trasero and a lovely smile, whom I grabbed for a session immediately after the show as well.
- Real lesbian show. Even though there were a couple of girls in the old Park Hotel show who actually were lesbians, the sex was quite tame except for when some crazy gringo joined in… there was a limited amount of pu*sy licking, and no kissing. At the Pirate Club, there was a great deal of french kissing between the girls at this show and the pu*sy licking was absolute bona fide. It was an absolute pleasure to look at.
- Much longer duration of show. Very nice. At first, when they still had clothes on after the first three songs, I thought this was going to be a washout, but the show went on for probably an hour.
- Starts closer to the announced starting time (and I have a suspicion it would have started on time had the crowd control been a bit better). I remember times when Bill would milk the crowd at the bar for two hours before starting the show.
- Better music. Definitely better music than the old Park Hotel. Though I swear, had I heard either Livin la Vida Loca, or Hotel California, I probably would have been incapacitated with laughter.
Not as good or needs improvement:
- Need to have an even number of girls in the show. Once the lesbian sex started, it was one clump of three girls on one side of the bar, and two girls on the other. It would be better to distribute pairs of girls around the bar so that more members of the audience can get closer to the action.
- Need more girls. My suspicion is that had Ken known the turnout would be that high, there would have been more.
- Get the girls to mix better. At the Park Hotel, after every one or two songs, the girls would change partners. Not so here. That may have been a function of the group of three girls having been regulars, and the other two, or at least I gather this, were invited in from outside.
- Poor usage of the bar space. As noted previously. Way too many guys didn't even have a chance to get close.
- I miss the baby oil. Yes, in the old days, with one or two old buddies and a couple of chicas, we would pile into Raffa the Taxista's broke down old car after the show and drag our asses back to the Presidente looking like we fell into a vat of baby oil, but oh, wasn't that a time! Here they use whipped cream, which is nice, but your hands are sticky afterwards. I ordered a bottle of water to wash that off. Remember the bucket of detergent that was passed around at the Park Hotel!
- No group of crusty old regulars to chat with. But who knows, maybe that will come back in time. I remember a lot of great conversations with interesting guys at the Park Hotel of old. I ran into a couple of old familiar faces this time around, at least. It is what it is.
- When I went upstairs with my second gal after the show, there was a warning for "time almost up", at the half hour mark, despite paying for a full hour. For a second, I thought I was in Tijuana! I didn't pursue the issue, and think this was a misunderstanding. I continued for a few more minutes and ended it… I was ready, anyway. But if this happens again, then it's a serious issue. The second gal, the Tica with the wonderful smile and trasero, was an absolute delight, too, by the way.
- Drink glasses on bar during the show… I think this is just another contrast with the hard core nature of the Park Hotel show. We were there for the gals, and those who wanted to drink were spread along the back wall. During the show at the Park Hotel, that bar was cleared for pu*sy. I guess that's really a matter of style. It may also be related to the fact that at the Park Hotel, Bill milked the customers for an hour or two, holding off the show to get as many drink orders up front as possible. There were some people ordering drinks during the show at the Pirate Club, but I don't think they were selling as many drinks during the show as before. At the end of the day, it's a management's call, a fine tuning issue. This is the Pirate Club show, not the Park Hotel show, and they should continue exploring what they excel in, and be different where it works better for them.
