Police: 2 women operated illegal massage parlor; 1 turned over to ICE - The Daily Gazette

Two women were arrested and one was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after illegally operating a massage parlor in Guilderland, police said Sunday.

After receiving complaints of illegal services at the Chinese Wellness Center at 1871 Western Ave., Guilderland police — along with members of the state Education Department Division of Licensing Services and ICE — conducted an investigation.

The investigation resulted in two arrests Friday. Liu Aping, 47, and Guiping Zhang, 52, were arrested on felony charges of unauthorized practice of a license profession. Both are from Flushing, New York, police said in a news release.

Zhang was released on bail and is to appear Thursday in Town Court.

Aping was given an appearance ticket and is to appear Thursday in Town Court. She was turned over to ICE, Guilderland police said.

Legitimate massage parlors are required to prominently display the license of each person performing any type of message therapy, police said.
