Prepare for a shock...

It's always very tempting to look back in time and say "boy, those were the good old days." And with respect to many of the venues in CR, that certainly seems to be the case right now. Talent is definitely down at Oasis and Kamur from what is was two years ago when I first started going to CR - and though I might have just been overly impressed at the time due to my "newbyness", it seems the Blue Marlin has taken a bit of a dive since then too.

But one place that definitely doesn't apply is Zona Blue. I was just going through the VIP photo section today to try and fill in some gaps in my personal collection, and I happened across some group shots of the Zona lineup from around June of 2005 (see Page 13 of the "Massage Parlor" section in the "New" VIP Gallery). Now this may have just been a bad day attendance-wise or something, but let me tell you - the current lineup absolutely smokes it. 4's and 5's abound - I'm not sure there was even a 6 in the whole bunch. Whereas you look at the lineup today, and while there's no "Miss Costa Rica" beauty pageant contestents, well over half the lineup is reasonably attractive and eminently phuckable.

Of course, things were shortly to improve already even at that time - I think Natasha and Stephanie had just started recently, Melanie and Leidy would be on board soon, and a couple of months later Pamela, Laura, and Johanna would be coming over from Oasis. And it's been pretty solid ever since - in fact, sessions have been hotter and higher quality on average as well. So you have to hand it to Eddie and his operation for maintaining a high standard of talent, while also upgrading the facilities to the point where it's a great place just to hang out as well. And I know he has big plans for the future, so it can only keep getting better.

Kudos to ZB - still a great reason to come to CR!

P.S. - Pic ID#1240 is the one to look for. Paola is the only girl shown who is still around today (maybe Vanessa was off that day) - and to her credit, she looks a lot better now. The recently departed Reichel definitely looked better (and less used) back then though.

Okay - I'm guilty of a little hyperbole in the thread title (how else do you get any attention around here) but seriously, would you do anybody in that (old) lineup? I know Sasha was supposed to be great performance-wise, but she would almost have to be.

Anyway, glad things have trended the way they have, and looking forward to lots of good times at ZB over Super Bowl.

gr..I agree with you. I have been going every 90 days for 2 years and I think the talent is still good or better...
also I think Pamela has made the others up their "skills" even though
some of the members complain about her.. she does understand what is expected and delivers! and helps the new talent in the "skills" department.
